The Taste of Asia is a non-profit annual street festival organized by the Federation of Chinese Canadians in Markham (FCCM) located in Markham, Ontario, Canada. It is the largest Asian festival in Canada with over 180,000 attendees each year. Major attractions include exotic food vendors, live performances from famous Asian pop culture celebrities, and a variety of community events ranging from basketball competitions to hot sauce competitions. The festival takes place between the intersections of Kennedy Road and Clayton Drive to Kennedy Road and Steeles Avenue East during the last weekend of June. Christie Pits
Christie Pits (officially Willowvale Park until 1983) is a public recreational area in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is located at 750 Bloor Street West at Christie Street, just west of the Toronto Transit Commission's Christie subway station. The park has an area of , about half of which is grassed picnic areas, the rest being various sports fields. Sports facilities on the site include three baseball diamonds (one full-sized and fenced named "Dominico Field"), basketball courts, a soccer/rugby/ football field, and the Alex Duff Memorial Outdoor Pool; and a splash pad and adjacent outdoor ice rink which are located on the west edge of the park at 779 Crawford Street. Nathan Phillips Square is an urban plaza in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It forms the forecourt to Toronto City Hall, or ''New City Hall'', at the intersection of Queen Street West and Bay Street, and is named for Nathan Phillips, mayor of Toronto from 1955 to 1962. The Living Arts Centre is a multi-use facility which opened in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, on October 7, 1997. Mel Lastman Square is a public square at North York Civic Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is named for then North York mayor (and later Toronto mayor) Mel Lastman. It was officially opened on June 16, 1989 by Norman Jewison and Mel Lastman's granddaughter Brie Lastman. The architects were J. Michael Kirkland. Miss Chinese Toronto Pageant
The Miss Chinese Toronto Pageant (多倫多華裔小姐競選), also known as MCTP, and formerly known as the Greater Toronto Chinese Pageant prior to 1999, is an annual beauty pageant organized by Fairchild TV that selects Toronto's representative for the annual Miss Chinese International Pageant, held in Hong Kong, organized by TVB. It is unrelated to the now-discontinued Miss Chinese Scarborough Pageant which was also hosted in the same region. The current Miss Chinese Toronto is Nicole Xu (徐熙儀), winner of the 2022 pageant. The winner of the pageant can then sign with Fairchild TV as a presenter, or often other popular contestants sign with Fairchild TV, even without a title.
