Flag Of Argentina
The national flag of the Argentine Republic is a triband (flag), triband, composed of three equally wide horizontal bands coloured light blue and white. There are multiple interpretations on the reasons for those colors. The flag was created by Manuel Belgrano, in line with the creation of the Cockade of Argentina, and was first raised at the city of Rosario on February 27, 1812, during the Argentine War of Independence. The National Flag Memorial was later built on the site. The First Triumvirate (Argentina), First Triumvirate did not approve the use of the flag, but the Asamblea del Año XIII allowed the use of the flag as a war flag. It was the Congress of Tucumán which finally designated it as the national flag, in 1816. A yellow Sun of May was added to the center in 1818. Fabiana Bravo (born in 1969), is an Argentina, Argentine operatic soprano. Life and work Fabiana Bravo was born in Guaymallén Department, outside Mendoza, Argentina, to a family of modest means. She moved to Buenos Aires at age 22, and sought parts in the city's Culture of Argentina#Cinema and theatre, theatre scene. She appeared in José Cibrián's ''Drácula'', and Peter MacFarlane's ''Broadway Follies'' and ''Broadway II'', among other productions. It was a personally tailored full scholarship program at The Catholic University of America that brought Fabiana Bravo from Argentina to Washington DC. From there she also studied interpretation at the Renata Scotto Institute in Savona, Italy, and Verdian repertoire at the Teatro Regio (Parma), Verdi Opera Studio in Parma, Italy. Oscar "Oski" Conti (191430 October 1979) was a prominent Argentine cartoonist and humorist. Life and work Oscar Esteban Conti was born in Buenos Aires in 1914. Enrolling at the National Fine Arts School, he helped finance his studies by creating caricatures for local advertisers. Following graduation, he studied scenography at the Buenos Aires Academy for Higher Studies. Despite his distaste for the medium, Conti was hired by ''Cascabel'' magazine as a cartoonist in 1942; at ''Cascabel'', he first began signing his work as "Oski." Pío Collivadino (August 20, 1869August 26, 1945) was an Argentine painter of the post-impressionist school. Life and work Pío Collivadino was born in Buenos Aires, in 1869. Gustavo Cochet
Gustavo Cochet (May 6, 1894 – July 27, 1979) was a painter, engraver, and writer who worked in Barcelona and Rosario. Childhood Cochet was born in Rosario, Argentina, in 1894. His mother was of mestizo heritage, and his father was French, a teacher in a rural elementary school located between Esperanza and San Jerónimo Norte, in the province of Santa Fe, Argentina. Cochet spent his first years in elementary school in the countryside, and his father was then transferred to Carlos Pellegrini and then to Maciel, both small towns in Santa Fe. In Maciel, Cochet began to work an apprentice telegraphist, and in 1912 he moved to Rosario to dedicate himself to painting while working as a telegraphist in the postal office. He studied with the painter César Caggiano, and met other contemporary painters in Buenos Aires. Leonor Cecotto
Leonor Cecotto (died 8 May 1982, Asunción, Paraguay) was a 20th-century Latin American painter and engraver. Born in Argentina, she resided in Paraguay for the majority of her life, eventually becoming a prominent artist in the latter country. She was known for both her paintings and her xylographs. Biography Cecotto was born in Ciudad de Formosa, Argentina, in 1918, 1920 or 1922. Her parents were Vicente González Leiva (Spanish) and Catalina Cecotto (Argentinian). Her father was a piano tuner, and she initially studied piano, and taught piano to earn money. From a young age, Leonor Cecotto resided in Paraguay. Alejandro Christophersen (1866–1946) was an Argentine architect and artist of Norwegian descent who designed many important buildings in the city of Buenos Aires, including the renowned Anchorena Palace. Biography Christophersen was born in Cádiz, Spain in 1866, the son of the Norwegian diplomat Otto Thorvald Alexander Christophersen, Consul to Spain. He studied architecture in Belgium and art in Paris. In 1888 he arrived in Argentina, and settled in Buenos Aires, during his career as an architect he gave the port city many of its most important buildings. Eduardo Fernando Catalano (December 19, 1917 – January 28, 2010) was an Argentine architect. Life and career Born in Buenos Aires, Catalano went to the United States on a scholarship to the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard Graduate School of Design. In 1945, after earning his second master's degree in architecture returned to Buenos Aires where he taught at the University of Buenos Aires and ran a private practice. Catalano then taught at the Architectural Association in London from 1950 to 1951, when he came back to the United States as a Professor of Architecture at the School of Design in Raleigh, North Carolina State University. Eleonora Cassano (born January 5, 1965 in Boedo, Buenos Aires) is an Argentine ballet dancer and teacher. She is known for being the dancing partner of Julio Bocca since 1989. Cassano studied in the Teatro Colón's Advanced Arts Institute and begins to work in the Teresa Carreño Foundation of Venezuela. In 1996, she started her career in the musical theatre with the plays ''La Cassano en el Maipo'' and ''Cassano dancing''. Héctor Julio Páride Bernabó (7 February 1911 – 2 October 1997) was an Argentine-Brazilian artist, researcher, historian and journalist. His nickname Carybé, a type of piranha, comes from his time in the scouts. He died of heart failure after the meeting of the candomblé community's secular board of directors, the Cruz Santa Opô Afonjá Society, of which he was a member. He produced five thousand pieces of work, including paintings, drawings, sculptures and sketches. He was an ''Obá de Xangô'', an honorary position at Ilê Axé Opô Afonjá. Some of Carybé's work can be found in the Afro-Brazilian Museum in Salvador: 27 panels representing different spirits of the candomblé religion. Each board shows a spirit with his weapons and his animal of worship. They were sculpted on cedar wood, with engravings and scaling of various kinds of material.
