Sabine Gasteiger (born 28 October 1956) is an Austrian Paralympic Gold medallist. She was awarded a gold medal in 2006, as part of her Decoration of Honour for Services to the Republic of Austria. Life Gasteiger was born in 1956. She has very poor eyesight and she therefore competes as a paralympian. She skis for the Austrian national team. Anna Schaffelhuber
Anna Katharina Schaffelhuber (born 26 January 1993) is a German para-alpine skier. At the 2014 Winter Paralympics she won five gold medals, becoming only the second athlete to sweep the alpine skiing events. Early life Schaffelhuber was born in Regensburg, Bavaria, Germany. She was born with an incomplete spinal cord and as a result has paraplegia and uses a wheelchair. She began monoskiing at age five and at age fourteen received a scholarship to join a national junior skiing programme. Career Schaffelhuber competes in the LW10 para-alpine skiing classification using a sitting mono-ski and outriggers. She was selected for the German team at the 2010 Winter Paralympics held in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada where she competed in four events. Claudia Lösch (born 19 October 1988) is a successful Austrian Paralympian and alpine monoskier. She won gold medals in the slalom and super slalom at the 2010 Winter Paralympics in Vancouver. Laurie Stephens (born March 5, 1984) is an alpine monoskier who has spina bifida. She has won multiple medals for the United States at the Paralympics. She has also had success at the IPC Alpine Skiing World Cup.
