Retirement Trades Teams were reluctant to trade initially due to the troubled economic times and the general desire to concentrate on building a well-rounded team as opposed to making profits out of trades. 2009 Indian Premier League
The 2009 Indian Premier League season, abbreviated as IPL 2 or the 2009 IPL, was the second season of the Indian Premier League, established by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in 2007. The tournament was hosted by South Africa and was played between 18 April and 24 May 2009. It was the second biggest cricket tournament in the world, after the Cricket World Cup, and was forecast to have an estimated television audience of more than 200 million people in India alone. The tagline was ''Divided by nations, United by IPL.'' As the second season of the IPL coincided with multi-phase 2009 Indian general elections, in the aftermath of the 3 March 2009 attack on the Sri Lanka national cricket team the Government of India refused to commit security by Indian paramilitary forces. Gaurav Dhiman
Gourav Dhiman (born 16 December 1986) is one of the most experienced players in the India U19 World Cup squad, having played 18 matches and making his debut in February 2004. He is the premier all-rounder in the India squad, bowling right-arm medium-pace and batting right-handed. He had played for India Under-15s and now plays for India Under-19s, Karnataka Under-19s. He regularly opens both the batting and the bowling. To date, he has scored 610 runs at an average of 51.25. He has hit three centuries including a whirlwind 105 off just 75 balls in the final of the Afro-Asian Cup against South Africa. Raiphi Vincent Gomez (born 16 October 1985) is an Indian cricketer who played for Kerala and Puducherry in domestic cricket. He is an all-rounder who bats right-handed and bowls right arm medium-fast. He was bought by Rajasthan Royals ahead of the 2009 season of Indian Premier League making him the second Kerala player to be part of an IPL franchise after Sreesanth. Kolkata Knight Riders
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are a franchise cricket team representing the city of Kolkata in the Indian Premier League. The franchise is owned by Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan, actress Juhi Chawla and her spouse Jay Mehta. The Knight Riders play at the Eden Gardens stadium. The franchise, which has gained immense popularity due to its association with celebrity owners, qualified for the IPL playoffs for the first time in 2011. Graham Napier
Graham Richard Napier (born 6 January 1980) is an English former cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm fast bowler, and was capable of bowling 90+mph. Napier played first-class cricket for his home county of Essex since the outset of his senior career in 1997. Between 1997 and 1999 Napier played in four Youth Test matches in England against Zimbabwe, South Africa (twice) and Australia's respective under-19 teams. He was also a member of the 1998 Under-19 Cricket World Cup winning squad. Napier was on the books of Ipswich Town as a goalkeeper and played for a season on loan at Felixstowe Town. Ryan Harris (cricketer)
Ryan James Harris (born 11 October 1979) is an Australian cricket coach and former cricketer. He was a right-arm fast bowler who was a member of the Australia national cricket team until retiring in the Ashes tour lead up of 2015 due to a knee injury. It had hampered him for a majority of his career, but despite this, he performed as one of Australia's most highly rated fast bowlers. Career Ryan Harris played with the Southern Redbacks from 2001–02 to 2007–08. Andrew Barry McDonald (born 5 June 1981) is the head Australian cricket coach and former cricketer who played for the Victoria and South Australia cricket teams.
