Shopping Mall
A shopping mall (or simply mall) is a North American term for a large indoor shopping center, usually anchored by department stores. The term "mall" originally meant a pedestrian promenade with shops along it (that is, the term was used to refer to the walkway itself which was merely bordered by such shops), but in the late 1960s, it began to be used as a generic term for the large enclosed shopping centers that were becoming commonplace at the time. In the U.K., such complexes are considered shopping centres (Commonwealth English: shopping centre), though "shopping center" covers many more sizes and types of centers than the North American "mall". Other countries may follow U.S. usage (Philippines, India, U.A.E., etc.) and others (Australia, etc.) follow U.K. usage. East Point City
East Point City () is a private housing estate and shopping centre in Hang Hau, Tseung Kwan O, New Territories, Hong Kong, near the Hang Hau MTR station. Built on reclaimed land and developed by Sun Hung Kai Properties, the estate consists of seven high-rise buildings and a two-storey shopping centre. A large-scale renovation of the shopping centre was completed in 2008. Demographics According to the 2016 by-census, East Point City had a population of 7,054. The median age was 41.6 and the majority of residents (90.4 per cent) were of Chinese ethnicity. The average household size was 3.4 people. City Walk () is one of the largest shopping centres in Tsuen Wan, New Territories, Hong Kong. It is located at Yeung Uk Road, beneath Vision City () and opposite to Nina Tower, one of the tallest buildings in Hong Kong. It is jointly developed by Sino Land and Urban Renewal Authority. Cityplaza
Cityplaza () is an office and shopping development, developed by Swire Properties, at 18 Taikoo Shing Road, Taikoo Shing, Hong Kong. It is adjacent to Taikoo Place, another office complex developed by Swire. The six-level shopping centre, connected to Tai Koo station, houses more than 170 shops, restaurants, a cinema and an indoor ice rink. In 2018, Swire Properties sold two of the office towers, previously Cityplaza 3 and 4, to Hengli Group and real estate investors Gaw Capital Partners. Citylink Plaza
Citylink Plaza is a building that stands above Sha Tin station on the MTR East Rail line in Hong Kong. It was developed and is owned by the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC). The building, as well as the railway station, is connected to New Town Plaza, which is one of the largest shopping centres in Sha Tin District. History The building originally housed the headquarters of the KCRC and some offices of the Hong Kong Government. It was called the KCR House () when it opened in 1983. The shopping centre was called Railway Mall and was renamed Citylink Plaza after it was renovated at the end of 1993. The Hong Kong Government built a separate building near Grand Central Plaza to house the government offices, and the headquarters of the KCRC had moved to a new building next to Fo Tan station on the MTR East Rail line.
