This is a list of characters in the ''Pokémon'' franchise, including the Pokémon (video game series), games. Characters may appear in multiple continuities, sometimes in the same basic role (e.g. #Team Rocket/Neo Team Rocket, Giovanni) and sometimes in very different roles (e.g. Brock (Pokémon), Brock). and are 2010 role-playing video games developed by Game Freak, published by The Pokémon Company and Nintendo for the Nintendo DS. They are the first installments in the fifth generation of the Pokémon (video game series), ''Pokémon'' video game series.
