"¡Basta Ya!" (English: "Enough!") is a song by Puerto Rican singer Olga Tañón from her fourth studio album, ''Nuevos Senderos'' (1996). The song was written and produced by Marco Antonio SolÃs. It was released as the lead single from the album in 1996. "A ballad, the song is about unrequited love and marked a musical departure from Tañón's merengue recordings. The song was nominated for Pop Song of the Year at the 1997 Lo Nuestro Awards. Commercially, it topped both the ''Billboard'' Hot Latin Songs and Latin Pop Airplay charts in the United States. A music video for the song was filmed and features a couple's failing relationship. "¡Basta Ya!" was later covered by both Conjunto Primavera in 2007 and by American singer Jenni Rivera. Marco Antonio SolÃs Sosa (born 29 December 1959) is a Mexican musician, singer, composer, and record producer. Born and raised in Ario de Rosales, Michoacán, SolÃs began his musical career at the age of six, performing part of Los Hermanitos SolÃs. In 1975 he co-founded Los Bukis, of which he was the lead vocalist and guitarist. The band split up after nearly two decades of success, with SolÃs pursuing a solo career. Since October 2012, chart rankings are based on digital sales, radio airplay, and online streaming, and only predominantly Spanish language songs are allowed to rank. The chart was established by the magazine on September 6, 1986, and was originally based on airplay on Latin music radio stations. Songs on the chart were not necessarily in Spanish language, since a few songs in English and Portuguese language have also charted. The first number one song of the Hot Latin Songs chart was "La Guirnalda" by RocÃo Dúrcal on September 6, 1986.
