Goodwin Liu
Goodwin Hon Liu (born October 19, 1970; Chinese: 劉弘威) is an American lawyer, educator and an associate justice of the Supreme Court of California. Before his appointment by California Governor Jerry Brown, Liu was Associate Dean and Professor of Law at the University of California, Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall). Liu has been recognized for his writing on constitutional law, education policy, civil rights, and the Supreme Court. Born in Georgia, US, Liu attended Stanford University, the University of Oxford, and Yale Law School. On February 24, 2010, President Barack Obama nominated Liu to fill a vacancy on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Eugene Balonon
Eugene L. Balonon is an American lawyer who serves as a judge of the Sacramento County Superior Court. Early life Eugene L. Balonon was born in San Francisco, California. He graduated from California State University, Sacramento with a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice. He then graduated from Lincoln Law School with a J.D. in 1984. Career After graduating from law school, he interned in a private practice. He was a deputy district attorney from 1985 to 1989, 1995 to 1996, and 1999 to 2004 for the Sacramento County District Attorney's office. Balonon served as Chief Deputy Director of the California State Lottery Commission from 1996 to 1999. He was executive director of the California Gambling Control Commission and worked in the Office of Criminal Justice Planning. He also worked as a legal writing professor at Lincoln Law School. Ventura County Superior Court
The Superior Court of California, County of Ventura County, is the branch of the California superior court with jurisdiction over Ventura County. History Ventura County was formed on March 22, 1872. The original Ventura County Courthouse was completed in 1875 by William Dewey Hobson and T. B. Steepleton from a design by Hobson. Additions were made in 1879 and 1884, and the building was remodeled in 1900. The first courthouse was demolished around 1920; the site is now occupied by the May Henning School on Santa Clara Street. A bond measure was passed, authorizing for a new courthouse in 1911. The new Ventura County Courthouse was designed by architect Albert C. Martin Sr. and completed in 1912. The new building was officially dedicated on July 7, 1913. A new jail wing was added in 1931–32. History San Diego County was one of the original counties formed when California gained statehood in 1850.
