Nav Canada (styled as NAV CANADA) is a privately run, not-for-profit corporation that owns and operates Canada's civil air navigation system (ANS). It was established in accordance with the ''Civil Air Navigation Services Commercialization Act'' (ANS Act). Arborfield ( 2006 Population 329) is a town in east-central Saskatchewan, Canada, approximately north-east of Melfort. The town is located on Highway 23 west of the Pasquia Hills. Arborfield is approximately from Nipawin, from Tisdale, from Saskatoon, and from Prince Albert. History In 1910, the town requested that it be named Fairfield, but that name was rejected by the post office in Ottawa. Because the offer was received on Arbour Day, the Post Office asked if the residents would accept Arborfield, which it did. Allan, Saskatchewan
Allan is a town in west central Saskatchewan, Canada, about 65 kilometres south-east of Saskatoon. History Allan was incorporated as a village on June 9, 1910, though the first homesteaders, consisting of nine families travelling together, first started arriving in 1903. It was incorporated as a town in 1965. Those nine families finally settled in what is now the district of Allan in early June 1903 after rejecting several previous land claims with which they were unhappy. Sports and recreation Allan & District Communiplex The town of Allan renamed the hockey rink in the Allan & District Communiplex to the Logan Schatz Memorial Rink in 2019. Alida ( 2016 population: ) is a village in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan within the Rural Municipality of Reciprocity No. 32 and Census Division No. 1. The village is approximately east of the City of Estevan. Farming and oil are the major local industries. Several ghost towns are in the vicinity, including Nottingham to the east, Auburnton, to the west, and Cantal to the north-west. With the investment of oil and other industries, the area continues to grow. History Alida was founded as a Canadian Pacific Railway station in the late 19th century, and it was named for Dame Alida Brittain. The local area was settled by immigrants from Europe, and other parts of North America. Alida incorporated as a village on February 19, 1926. The rail line was closed in 1976 when a spring storm washed out the rail bridge near Lauder, Manitoba, at the beginning of the line.
