This article contains a list of all matches to be played during the 2020 Super Rugby regular season. The season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A New Zealand only competition, Super Rugby Aotearoa, set up by New Zealand Rugby Union, was created in replacement to fill the gap that Super Rugby competition left. Other like-competitions may follow in other conferences, given eradication of the COVID-19 novel coronavirus in the host countries. 2020 Super Rugby Season
The 2020 Super Rugby season was the 25th season of Super Rugby, an international men's rugby union competition organised by SANZAAR involving teams from Argentina, Australia, Japan, New Zealand and South Africa. It is the third tournament in its current 15 team format, the last before the Japanese side the Sunwolves withdraw from the tournament ahead of a new format in 2021. The current champions are the Crusaders, who won their 10th title in 2019. On 14 March 2020, it was announced that play would be suspended after the conclusion of the weekend's fixtures, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and a travel restriction that was announced by New Zealand earlier in the day. Replacement regional tournaments would take place thereafter, beginning in June in New Zealand, July in Australia and October in South Africa. Folau Fainga'a (born 5 May 1995) is an Australian professional rugby union player who currently plays at hooker for the Western Force. He previously played for the ACT Brumbies and the . Folau is currently signed on with Rugby Australia and has been selected to play for the Australian national rugby team the Wallabies for the 2022 season. Career Fainga'a began his senior rugby career with Sydney University. He played for that club in the Shute Shield for three seasons starting from 2015. Fainga'a was selected in the Australian Under-20 team in 2015 and played at the World Championship in Italy. Marius van der Westhuizen (born 6 January 1984) is a South African professional rugby union referee, currently on the Premier Panel of the South African Rugby Referees' Association.
