Lisle High School
Lisle High School is a public four-year high school located in Lisle, Illinois, a western suburb of Chicago, Illinois, in the United States. It is part of Lisle Community Unit School District 202. History Lisle Community High School first opened in 1957, at the location of the current junior high. It remained there until 1974, after the elementary and high school districts merged to form Lisle Community Unit School District 202. A new building was erected for the incoming class of 1975. In 2001, the high school received a makeover. The most notable changes were: the addition of a new auditorium, eight new classrooms, new band and choir rooms, and a second gym with a balcony. The class of 2007 was the 50th class to graduate from Lisle Senior High School, and the class of 2016 graduated with a class of about 135 students. Lisle ( ) is a village in DuPage County, Illinois, United States. The population was 22,390 at the 2010 census, and in 2019 the population was recorded to be 23,270. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area and the Illinois Technology and Research Corridor. It is also the headquarters of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission Region III. John Grochowski (born c. 1952) is a gambling columnist and author. His weekly newspaper column began at the ''Chicago Sun-Times'' and is now syndicated nationally. The National Honor Society (NHS) is a nationwide organization for high school students in the United States and outlying territories, which consists of many chapters in high schools. Selection is based on four criteria: scholarship (academic achievement), leadership, service, and character. The time spent working on these projects contributes towards the monthly service hour requirement. Key Club International, also called Key Club, is an international service organization for high school students. As a student-led organization, Key Club's goal is to encourage leadership through serving others. Key Club International is the high school branch of the Kiwanis International family, classifying as a Service Leadership Program and more specifically as a Kiwanis Youth Program. The Illinois High School Association (IHSA) is an association that regulates competition of interscholastic sports and some interscholastic activities at the high school level for the state of Illinois. The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB) was a U.S. Act of Congress that reauthorized the Elementary and Secondary Education Act; it included Title I provisions applying to disadvantaged students. It supported standards-based education reform based on the premise that setting high standards and establishing measurable goals could improve individual outcomes in education. The Act required states to develop assessments in basic skills. To receive federal school funding, states had to give these assessments to all students at select grade levels.
