Lisa Thompson (politician)
Lisa M. Thompson (born ) is a Canadian politician who is the Ontario minister of agriculture, food and rural affairs in the Doug Ford government since June 18, 2021. She has represented the riding of Huron—Bruce in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario as a member of the Progressive Conservatives since 2011. She previously served as Ontario minister of education from 2018 to 2019 and as Ontario minister of government and consumer services from 2019 to 2021. Background Thompson was born in Wingham, Ontario. She is a graduate of the University of Guelph. Prior to her election as an MPP, she worked as the general manager of The Ontario Dairy Goat Cooperative, and as a Rural Community Advisor for OMAFRA. 2014 Ontario Provincial Election
The 2014 Ontario general election was held on June 12, 2014, to elect the members of the 41st Parliament of Ontario. The Liberal Party won a majority of seats in the legislature, allowing its leader, Kathleen Wynne, to continue as premier, moving from a minority to majority government. This was the Liberals' fourth consecutive win since 2003 and an improvement from their performance in the 2011 election. Victor Anthony Fedeli (born August 8, 1956) is a Canadian politician who has been the Ontario minister of economic development, job creation and trade since 2019 and chair of Cabinet since 2018. He is the Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) for Nipissing, and has held his seat for the Progressive Conservative (PC) party of Ontario since the 2011 provincial election. Patrick Walter Brown (born May 26, 1978) is a Canadian politician who has served as the 51st and current mayor of Brampton since 2018. Entering politics when he won a seat on the Barrie City Council in 2000, Brown later joined the Conservative Party and became a member of Parliament (MP) in 2006. He represented Barrie in the House of Commons until 2015, when he was elected as leader of the Ontario Progressive Conservative (PC) Party and resigned his seat in Parliament.
