Lisa V. Dempster is a Canadian politician, who was elected to the Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly in a by-election on June 25, 2013. She represents the district of Cartwright-L'Anse au Clair as a member of the Liberal Party. A resident of Charlottetown, Labrador, Dempster has worked as an employment counsellor and as a municipal Councillor in Charlottetown, including serving as the town's deputy mayor. Charlottetown is a town in Labrador with a population of 292 ( 2021 census) in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. It was said to be founded by Benjamin Powell in 1950 and named for Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island: "I thought that maybe someday the place would be the capital of the bay, the same way Charlottetown is the capital of Prince Edward Island."
