Lisa Anne Auerbach (born 1967 in Ann Arbor, Michigan) is an American textile artist, Zine writer, photographer, best known for her knitting works with humorous political commentary. Photography was the discipline she studied for her MFA, however, due to lack of access to a darkroom, she used knitting as a cost-effective way to make art. Art Center College of Design (stylized as ArtCenter College of Design) is a private art college in Pasadena, California. History ArtCenter College of Design was founded in 1930 in downtown Los Angeles as the Art Center School. In 1935, Fred R. Archer founded the photography department, and Ansel Adams was a guest instructor in the late 1930s. During and after World War II, ArtCenter ran a technical illustration program in conjunction with the California Institute of Technology. In 1947, the post-war boom in students caused the school to expand to a larger location in the building of the former Cumnock School for Girls in the Hancock Park neighborhood, while still maintaining a presence at its original downtown location. The Saatchi Gallery is a London gallery for contemporary art and an independent charity opened by Charles Saatchi in 1985. The Whitney Biennial is a biennial exhibition of contemporary American art, typically by young and lesser known artists, on display at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City, United States. Malmö Konsthall
Malmö Konsthall is an exhibition hall located in the center of Malmö, Sweden. It is one of the largest exhibition halls for contemporary art in Europe. Building The hall was designed by architect Klas Anshelm (1914-1980), who was inspired by the Paris studio of the sculptor Constantin Brâncuși. It was built between 1971-1974 and is constructed of concrete, glass, wood and aluminium. The ceiling is made of domes with natural and artificial light sources. The light well has a large sloping skylight admitting northern light. The building was awarded the 1974 Kasper Salin Prize by the Swedish Association of Architects. Nottingham Contemporary
Nottingham Contemporary (formerly known as the Centre for Contemporary Art Nottingham (CCAN)) is a contemporary art centre in the Lace Market area of Nottingham. The gallery opened in 2009. The gallery describes its site as being "the oldest in the city", having been the site of a Saxon fort. To celebrate the area's history of lace manufacture, the cladding of the building is embossed with a traditional Nottingham lace pattern.
