Liquid Sound Company
Liquid Sound Company are an American acid/psychedelic rock band, formed in the late 1990s. History Formed by John Perez in 1996, the group originates from Arlington, Texas. Perez has mainly been busy playing heavy doom with bands Solitude Aeturnus and Sorrows Path, adding to the band's lack of stability over the years as a steady, active band. The group features psychedelic influences from west coast psychedelic to the heavier Hawkwind territory, noting Dead Flowers and Agitation Free as influencing artists. Rockadelic Records released the debut album, ''Exploring The Psychedelic'', in 1996 where Perez is supported by Teri Pritchard (bass) and drummer Jason Spradlin. The band offers diversified songs with a minimalistic sound but also features heavy fuzz guitars, oriental influences and hypnotic elements. Neo-psychedelic Rock
Neo-psychedelia is a diverse genre of psychedelic music that draws inspiration from the sounds of 1960s psychedelia, either updating or copying the approaches from that era. Originating in the 1970s, it has occasionally seen mainstream pop success but is typically explored within alternative rock scenes. It initially developed as an outgrowth of the British post-punk scene, where it was also known as acid punk. Acid Rock
Acid rock is a loosely defined type of rock music that evolved out of the mid-1960s garage punk movement and helped launch the psychedelic subculture. Named after lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD), the style is generally defined by heavy, distorted guitars, lyrics with drug references, and long improvised jams. Much of the style overlaps with 1960s garage punk, proto-metal, and early heavy, blues-based hard rock. Progressive Rock
Progressive rock (shortened as prog rock or simply prog; sometimes conflated with art rock) is a broad genre of rock music that developed in the United Kingdom and United States through the mid- to late 1960s, peaking in the early 1970s. Matt Miller (musician)
Matt Miller is a native of El Paso, Texas and the bassist for the Post-hardcore band, Sparta. He currently resides in Los Angeles, California. Sparta Matt Miller joined vocalist Jim Ward, drummer Tony Hajjar, and guitarist Paul Hinojos in Sparta a few months after its conception when original bassist Erick Sanger was let go from the group, and Miller's previous band Belknap broke up. The fact that Sparta was starting so soon after the break-up of his bandmates previous effort, ''At the Drive-In'', did not faze Miller, though he knew the band would have a rough start. For the band's first record, ''Wiretap Scars'', all members contributed lyrics, and Miller was no exception. Though Sparta's frontman Ward now takes on lyrical duties by himself; Miller has expanded his role in the group, now providing back-up vocals along with guitarist Keeley Davis (Hinojos has since left the group). Robert Lowe (musician)
Robert Lowe is an American singer. Biography Lowe was brought into the band Solitude Aeturnus by his friend Lyle Steadham in 1988, replacing Kris Gabehardt. He is also the main lyricist on later albums. Lowe also appeared as a session singer on the first Last Chapter album. In 1996, he sings on the debut album by trio out of Arlington, Texas: Liquid Sound Company: "Exploring the Psychedelic". On January 22, 2007, Leif Edling announced Lowe to be the main vocalist for the band Candlemass, and Lowe recorded the albums ''King of the Grey Islands'' (2007), '' Death Magic Doom'' (2009), and '' Psalms for the Dead'' (2012). He also appeared on EP '' Lucifer Rising'' (2008). He was the band's longest serving vocalist after Messiah Marcolin. On June 2, 2012, Lowe left Candlemass. The same year, 2007, he recorded and released an album with a side project called Concept of God, including fellow former Solitude Aeturnus members.
