Lionel Conacher, Jr.
Lionel Conacher Jr. (born January 8, 1936) is a former running back in the Canadian Football League. He is the son of famed Canadian sports legend, Lionel Conacher. A graduate University of Western Ontario, his selection in the university draft stirred up considerable controversy when the Toronto Argonauts passed him up for Bill Mitchell (who, incidentally, ended up being the 1960 rookie of the year). 1967 Stanley Cup Finals
The 1967 Stanley Cup Finals was the championship series of the National Hockey League's (NHL) 1966–67 season, and the culmination of the 1967 Stanley Cup playoffs. A best-of-seven series, it was contested between the Montreal Canadiens and the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Maple Leafs won the series four games to two. In doing so, they won their thirteenth Stanley Cup championship. To date, this is Toronto's last appearance in the Stanley Cup Finals and they have the longest-active championship drought in the NHL at 54 (not including 2004–05 lockout) seasons. The 1967 Stanley Cup Finals was also the last Stanley Cup Finals in the Original Six Era. This was also the last all-Canadian Finals series until 1986. Pete Conacher
Charles William "Pete" Conacher, Jr. (born July 29, 1932) is a Canadian retired professional ice hockey player who played 229 games in the National Hockey League between 1951 and 1957. The rest of his career, which lasted from 1951 to 1966, was mainly spent in the American Hockey League. Conacher played with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Chicago Black Hawks, and New York Rangers. In 1959, Conacher played for the World Champion Belleville McFarlands. He is the son of NHL Hall of Famer, Charlie Conacher. Junior hockey career Pete Conacher began his hockey career in the Toronto Hockey League in 1943 with the Leaside PeeWee team. He went on to play for the North Toronto Kinsmen Terriers in the 1944-45 season; where he would go on to be a Minor Bantam finalist. At the age of 16, he became property of the Chicago Blackhawks but was sent to their Ontario Hockey Association affiliate, the Galt Black Hawks. Murray Henderson (ice Hockey)
John Murray "Moe" Henderson (September 5, 1921 — January 4, 2013) was a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman who played 405 games in the National Hockey League with the Boston Bruins between 1945 and 1952. Playing career Born in Toronto, Ontario in 1921, Henderson played junior hockey with the Toronto Young Rangers. In 1942 he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and was stationed on the Pacific coast where he flew patrol missions. He was discharged two years later following the death of his father. Henderson played briefly for the Boston Olympics, a farm team of the Boston Bruins, before joining the big club for five games at the end of the 1944-1945 season. In total Henderson played eight seasons with the Bruins and registered 24 goals and 62 assists. Following his NHL career, he spent four seasons as the player-coach of the Hershey Bears. Charles William "The Big Bomber" Conacher, Sr. (December 20, 1909 – December 30, 1967) was a Canadian professional ice hockey forward who played for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Detroit Red Wings and New York Americans in the National Hockey League. An early power forward, Conacher was nicknamed "The Big Bomber," for his size, powerful shot and goal scoring. He led the NHL five times in goals, and twice led in overall scoring. Over five seasons from 1931-32 to 1935-36 Conacher was named to three NHL First All-Star Teams and two NHL Second All-Star Teams. He is an Honoured Member of the Hockey Hall of Fame. Roy Gordon Conacher (October 5, 1916 – December 29, 1984) was a Canadian professional ice hockey left winger who played 11 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Boston Bruins, Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Black Hawks. He was the NHL's leading goal-scorer in 1938–39, his first season in the league. Conacher was a member of two Stanley Cup winning teams with the Bruins and scored the championship winning goal in 1939. He won the Art Ross Trophy in 1948–49 season as the NHL's leading point scorer and was named a first team All-Star. The Toronto Maple Leafs (officially the Toronto Maple Leaf Hockey Club and often referred to as the Leafs) are a professional ice hockey team based in Toronto.
