Lionel Tobias Boas (1875 – 16 August 1949) was a prominent public official from Western Australia. Biography Early life Lionel Tobias Boas was born in 1875 in South Australia. His father was Rabbi Abraham Boas (1844–1923). Career He moved to Perth, Western Australia, in 1896. A decade later, in 1906, he was elected a councillor to the City of Subiaco, serving for thirty-six years and was mayor of Subiaco from 1917 to 1920. Abraham Boas
Abraham Tobias Boas (25 November 1842 – 20 February 1923) was a rabbi of a Hebrew congregation in Adelaide, South Australia. Biography Early life Abraham Tobias Boas was born at Amsterdam, the Netherlands, son of Tobias Eliesar Boas, rabbi, and his wife Eva Salomon Levi, ''née'' Linse. Boas was educated at Amsterdam Theological Seminary and studied theology under a well-known Hebraist, Delaville. In 1865, he went to England to further his studies, and in 1867 became minister to the Jewish congregation at Southampton. Harold Boas
Harold Boas OBE (27 September 1883 – 17 September 1980) was a town planner and architect in Western Australia. Boas designed many public buildings in and around Perth and was an influential Jewish community leader. He served as an elected member of the Perth City Council on three separate occasions, presided over the Metropolitan Town Planning Commission and was the foundation president of the Town Planning Institute of Western Australia. Perth

The City of Subiaco is a local government area in Western Australia. It covers an area of approximately 7 km² in inner western metropolitan Perth and lies about 3 km west of the Perth CBD. The City includes the historically working-class suburb of Subiaco centred around Rokeby Road. Since the 1990s the area has been extensively redeveloped and gentrified. John "Jack" Joseph Simons (also widely known and referred to as J. J. Simons and J. J. "Boss" Simons (12 August 1882 – 24 October 1948) was an Australian businessman and politician, best known for establishing the Young Australia League. Early life Simons was born at Clare, South Australia to Thomas Simons, a currier, and Margaret Simons, née Henry, a schoolteacher.
