Linx (railway Company)
Linx AB was a railway company which operated inter-Scandinavian passenger trains between 2001 and 2004. Established as a joint venture between the Norwegian State Railways (NSB) and the Swedish state-owned SJ, Linx operated the routes from Oslo, Norway, to Stockholm, Sweden, and from Oslo via Gothenburg, Sweden, to Copenhagen, Denmark. Services were provided up to ten times per day. However, slow speeds caused by curvy infrastructure in Norway, combined with competition from low-cost airlines, caused the company to lose money, and eventually grounded operations. The services were taken over by NSB and SJ. The main rolling stock were eleven X2 electric multiple units, although it used SJ Rc-hauled trains on the Gothenburg–Oslo service. Linx were a British soul/Brit funk band (music), band consisting of David Grant (singer), David Grant (lead vocals), Bob Carter (keyboard instrument, keyboards), Andy Duncan (drums), Canute Edwards (guitar), Peter Martin (bass guitar, bass) (aka Sketch) and Junior Giscombe (backing vocals). Carter and Duncan were session musicians who were known for their contribution to Hazel O'Connor's ''Breaking Glass (album), Breaking Glass'' album and movie. The London Internet Exchange ("LINX") is a mutually governed Internet exchange point (IXP) that provides peering services and public policy representation to network operators (over 950 different ASNs). It was founded in 1994 in London. LINX operates IXPs in London, Manchester, Scotland and Wales in the United Kingdom and Northern Virginia in the United States. LINX was founded in 1994 by a group of ISPs and educational networks and is a founding member of Euro-IX, a Europe-wide alliance of Internet Exchanges.
