Linn Githmark
Linn Catharina Cavallius Githmark (born 26 September 1982) is a Norwegian curler who has skipped her country to a world junior title, and also played on the Norwegian team that won a silver medal at the world championships. Githmark played on the teams representing Norway in world junior championships from 1997 to 2004, and was skip on all but two occasions. She led her team to the gold medal in 2004. Githmark made her world championship debut in 2004, taking Hanne Woods' place as third on the team skipped by former world champion Dordi Nordby. Norway won the silver medal at the 2004 world championship, followed by bronze medals at the European Championships later in the year, and at the 2005 worlds. Linn Gossé (born 25 June 1986) is a Norwegian handball player. She currently plays for Tertnes HE. She made her debut on the Norwegian national team back in 2005 and played two matches that year. Linn Maria Grant (born 20 June 1999) is a Swedish professional golfer who plays on the LPGA Tour and Ladies European Tour. As an amateur, she won the 2017 Ladies' British Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship and was in contention at the 2018 and 2020 U.S. Women's Open. Family and early years Grant is the grand-daughter of James Grant, a Scottish golf professional who emigrated from Inverness in Scotland to Helsingborg in Sweden. The Grant family has had a fair bit of success on Catriona Matthew's home track, North Berwick Golf Club. James won the Scottish Boys Championship on the course, and Linn won the British Amateur Stroke Play Championship there, 49 years later. James died when Linn was 6 years old. Linn Boyd (November 22, 1800 – December 17, 1859) (also spelled "Lynn") was a prominent US politician of the 1840s and 1850s, and served as Speaker of the United States House of Representatives from 1851 to 1855. Boyd was elected to the House as a Jacksonian from Kentucky from 1835 to 1837 and again as a Democrat from 1839 to 1855, serving seven terms in the House. Boyd County, Kentucky is named in his honor. Linn Markley Farrish (October 3, 1901 – September 11, 1944) was an American rugby union player and alleged spy. Rugby Farrish competed in the 1924 Summer Olympics. He was a member of the American rugby union team, which won the gold medal. Espionage Farrish was a member of the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) during the Second World War. While acting as the OSS liaison officer to Josip Tito's Yugoslav Partisans, as part of Maclean Mission (Macmis), he submitted a one-sided assessment of anti-Nazi resistance, grossly exaggerating the effectiveness of the Communist Partisans and denigrating the anti-Communist Chetniks as collaborators. He was also allegedly serving Soviet intelligence. Farrish is referenced in the following Venona project decryption: 1397 KGB New York to Moscow, 4 October 1944.
