Linley E. Pearson
Linley E. Pearson (born April 18, 1946) is an American politician, lawyer, and judge who served as the thirty-seventh Attorney General of Indiana from January 12, 1981 to January 11, 1993. Biography Pearson was born in Long Beach, California. Pearson attended The Citadel (a senior military college in Charleston, South Carolina). Pearson obtained a master's degree from Butler University and a J.D. from Indiana University. Pearson is a former law clerk of Richard M. Givan, a Justice of the Indiana Supreme Court. Pearson, a resident of Frankfort, was elected Prosecutor of Clinton County in 1971. Pearson is a Republican. When he was first elected, he was the youngest prosecutor in the state. Clinton County, Indiana
Clinton County is a county located in the U.S. state of Indiana. As of 2010, the population was 33,224. The county seat is Frankfort. History Clinton County officially came into existence on March 1, 1830, and was named in honor of DeWitt Clinton, the sixth Governor of New York State and architect of the Erie Canal, which opened up the Upper Midwest to settlement. The act forming the county was approved by the Indiana General Assembly on January 29, 1830, and created Clinton from the eastern parts of neighboring Tippecanoe County. Lieutenant General James F. Stephen Goldsmith
Stephen "Steve" Goldsmith (born December 12, 1946) is an American politician and writer who was the 46th mayor of Indianapolis. He also served as the deputy mayor of New York City for operations from 2010 to 2011. John Massie Mutz (born November 5, 1935) is an American business leader and politician who served as Lieutenant Governor of Indiana, Republican candidate for Governor and president of Lilly Endowment, one of America's largest family foundations. Born in Indianapolis, Mutz is a graduate of Northwestern University, earning both a bachelor's degree and master's degrees in advertising and business management there. Theodore Edward Rokita (born February 9, 1970) is an American lawyer and politician serving as the 44th and current Attorney General of Indiana. He served as a member of the United States House of Representatives from from 2011 to 2019. A member of the Republican Party, he served two terms as Secretary of State of Indiana from 2002 to 2010. When Rokita was elected to office in 2002 at age 32, he became the youngest secretary of state in the United States at the time. Frankfort, Indiana
Frankfort is a city in Clinton County, Indiana, United States. The population was 16,422 at the 2010 census. The city is the county seat of Clinton County. History Brothers John, William and Nicholas Pence, previously of Warren County, Ohio, settled on the land on which Frankfort now stands in 1829, having entered it from the government in 1827 and 1828. In 1830, the brothers donated of the land to the county commissioners, a donation which led to the establishment of the county seat at that site rather than in Jefferson, a community which had also been vying for the honor. The new town was named Frankfort at the brothers' request and honors their German great-grandparents' home of Frankfurt am Main.
