Line 13 (CPTM)
Line 13 (Jade) ( pt, Linha 13–Jade), also known as the Guarulhos Train, is one of the seven lines operated by CPTM and one of the thirteen lines that make up the São Paulo Metro Rail Transport Network. The route is long with a total of 3 stations. It connects the Engenheiro Goulart Station in São Paulo to the Guarulhos Airport Station, in the city of Guarulhos. Opened on March 31, 2018, it was the first line completely built and operated by CPTM. That makes São Paulo's Guarulhos Airport the first major international airport in South America to be directly served by train. Side Platform
A side platform (also known as a marginal platform or a single-face platform) is a platform positioned to the side of one or more railway tracks or guideways at a railway station, tram stop, or transitway. A station having dual side platforms, one for each direction of travel, is the basic design used for double-track railway lines (as opposed to, for instance, the island platform where a single platform lies between the tracks). Side platforms may result in a wider overall footprint for the station compared with an island platform where a single width of platform can be shared by riders using either track. Island Platform
An island platform (also center platform, centre platform) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are popular on twin-track routes due to pragmatic and cost reasons. They are also useful within larger stations where local and express services for the same direction of travel can be provided from opposite sides of the same platform thereby simplifying transfers between the two tracks. An alternative arrangement is to position side platforms on either side of the tracks. The historical use of island platforms depends greatly upon the location. The Luz Station ( pt, Estação da Luz, ) is a railway station in the Luz neighbourhood in São Paulo, Brazil. The station is part of the metropolitan rail system run by the CPTM. The station houses the Museum of the Portuguese Language, established in 2006. The Luz Metro station is also located within the complex. Brás is a station on the Line 3-Red of São Paulo Metro and on the Lines 10-Turquoise, 11-Coral, 12-Sapphire and the Service 710 of CPTM. History The first station at this location was opened on February 16, 1867, under the name 'Braz' by the São Paulo Railway (SPR). On November 6, 1875, the Northern Railway (Estrada de Ferro do Norte, later the Estrada de Ferro Central do Brasil) opened a terminal station, called the 'Estação do Norte' for their northern rail lines. The name of this station was changed to "Roosevelt" on September 15, 1945, by presidential decree in homage to the American President Franklin Roosevelt, who died that year. Alexandre Baldy de Sant'Anna Braga (Goiânia, July 21, 1980) is a Brazilian industrialist and politician affiliated with Progressistas (PP). He is currently secretary of Metropolitan Transport in the state of São Paulo, under the João Doria (PSDB) government. Baldy had been federal congressperson in Goiás and Minister of Cities in Brazil.
