Lindy Burns
Lindy Burns is an Australian radio presenter. Career Burns started in radio at 1233 ABC Newcastle co-presenting the Saturday morning sports program "All in the Game" she has been a sports commentator with Triple J and presenting the statewide Sunday Show in New South Wales. Lindy's first full-time gig was presenting Drive on 1233 ABC Newcastle, where she stayed for five years. In September 2005, Burns moved to Melbourne to present Drive on 774 ABC Melbourne to replace Virginia Trioli who transferred to Sydney. In December 2011, Burns finished presenting Drive on 774 ABC Melbourne after 6 years and moved to present Evenings in January 2012, replacing Derek Guille. In October 2018, Burns announced her resignation from ABC Radio Melbourne, she has decided to return to her hometown of Newcastle to spend more time with her family. ABC Newcastle (call sign: 2NC) is an Australian radio station. It is the Newcastle station of the ABC local radio network, and is licensed to, and serving Newcastle and surrounding areas. It operates on the AM band at 1233 kilohertz. Formerly known by its callsign 2NC, the NC in the callsign is short for ''N''ew''c''astle, while the 2 represents the state of New South Wales. The station was established in 1930. History 2NC was the very first regional radio station in Australia outside a capital city. It was set up by Adrian Jose. Triple J (stylised in all lowercase) is a government-funded, national Australian radio station intended to appeal to listeners of alternative music, which began broadcasting in January 1975. The station also places a greater emphasis on broadcasting Australian content compared to commercial stations. Triple J is a division of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. ABC Radio Melbourne (official callsign: 3LO) is an ABC Local Radio station in Melbourne, Australia. It began transmission on 13 October 1924, and was Melbourne's second licensed radio station after 3AR. Virginia Frances Trioli (born 16 August 1965) is an Australian journalist, author, radio and television presenter. Trioli currently hosts the morning program on ABC Radio Melbourne in Melbourne. She has previously been co-host of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's breakfast television program ''News Breakfast''. Career Born in Bendigo, Trioli attended Donvale High School and graduated from La Trobe University in the 1980s with a Bachelor of Arts degree with a fine arts major in cinema. She worked as a publicist for a book publisher, then at the Victorian Ethnic Affairs Commission before starting at ''The Age'' in 1990. Derek Guille
Derek Guille (born 1951) is an Australian radio presenter. He presented the ''Evenings'' program on 774 ABC Melbourne and ABC Victoria from 2003 to 2011. Career Before beginning his radio career, Guille worked for the Nine Network and Batman Records and also travelled overseas where he worked as a music journalist, screen-printing, silkscreen printer and photographer. He fulfilled his childhood ambition when he began his radio career with 3HA in Hamilton, Victoria, Hamilton in 1984. In 1987 he joined the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) at the Horsham studios of 3WV/WL, presenting the local current affairs morning program before moving to the breakfast shift and regional manager.
