Lina van de Mars (born 13 September 1979 in Munich, Germany) is a German TV moderator, motor athlete and drummer. Life and career After passing her Abitur in Munich in 2000, Lina van de Mars moved to Berlin to support the band Lemonbabies as a drummer. At the same time, she began a master's degree in Dutch and Indian philology and art history at the Free University of Berlin. Because of her medial activities she gave up her studies in 2002. The Dakar Rally (or simply "The Dakar"; formerly known as the "Paris–Dakar Rally") is an annual rally raid organised by the Amaury Sport Organisation. Most events since the inception in 1978 were staged from Paris, France, to Dakar, Senegal, but due to security threats in Mauritania, which led to the cancellation of the 2008 rally, events from 2009 to 2019 were held in South America.
