The Limone Extreme is an international skyrunning competition held for the first time in 2011. It runs every year in Limone sul Garda ( Italy) in October and consists of two races SkyRace and Vertical Kilometer both valid for the Skyrunner World Series. Limone Sul Garda
Limone sul Garda ( Gardesano: ) is a town and ''comune'' in the province of Brescia, in Lombardy (northern Italy), at the western bank of Lake Garda. History Despite the presence of famous cultivations of lemons (the meaning of in Italian), the town's name is probably derived from the ancient (elm) or (Latin: boundary, referring to the communes of Brescia and the Bishopric of Trento). Between 1863 and 1905 the denomination of the comune was Limone San Giovanni. On 13 September 1786, the famous German poet J. Skyrunning Competitions
Skyrunning is a sport of mountain running up to or exceeding where the minimum average incline is 6% over the total distance and at least 5% has an incline of 30% or more. The climbing difficulty does not exceed II grade UIAA. Poles, crampons and hands may be used to aid progress. The governing body is the International Skyrunning Federation. The sport comprises a number of different disciplines from the short, steep Vertical Kilometer to the more popular SkyRace and SkyMarathon. Ultra SkyMarathons are becoming increasingly popular as are short vertical SkySpeed races which include skyscraper racing. Judith Wyder (born 25 June 1988) is a Swiss orienteering and ski orienteering competitor and runner. Her achievements include gold medals at the World Orienteering Championships and the European Orienteering Championships, both individually and with the Swiss relay team. Biography As a junior, Wyder won World Championship medals in both orienteering and ski orienteering. She won a bronze medal in the middle distance at the 2011 World Orienteering Championships in Chambéry, a gold medal in the relay at the 2012 World Orienteering Championships in Lausanne and a bronze medal in the relay at the 2013 World Orienteering Championships in Vuokatti.
