Limnochori ( el, Λιμνοχώρι, before 1928: Στριγκλέικα - ''Strigkleika'') is a village and a community in the municipal unit of Movri in Achaea, Greece. The community consists of the villages Limnochori, Kalamaki, Kato Limnochori and Paralia Kalamakiou. It is located in the plains near the Gulf of Patras. It is 4 km north of Sageika, 4 km southeast of Lakkopetra, 6 km west of Kato Achaia and 4 km east of Araxos Airport. Western Greece Region ( el, Περιφέρεια Δυτικής Ελλάδας, translit=Periféria Dhitikís Elládhas, ) is one of the thirteen administrative regions of Greece. Achaea
Achaea () or Achaia (), sometimes transliterated from Greek as Akhaia (, ''Akhaïa'' ), is one of the regional units of Greece. It is part of the region of Western Greece and is situated in the northwestern part of the Peloponnese peninsula. The capital is Patras which is the third largest city in Greece. Geography Achaea is bordered by Elis to the west and southwest, Arcadia to the south, and Corinthia to the east and southeast. The Gulf of Corinth lies to its northeast, and the Gulf of Patras to its northwest. The mountain Panachaiko (1926 m), though not the highest of Achaea, dominates the coastal area near Patras. Movri ( el, Μόβρη) is a former municipality in Achaea, West Greece, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform, it is part of the municipality of West Achaea, of which it is a municipal unit. It has a population of 4,605 as of 2011, and is named after the mountain range Movri. The seat of the municipality is in Sageika. Its area is 86.484 km². Gulf Of Patras
The Gulf of Patras ( el, Πατραϊκός Κόλπος, ''Patraikós Kólpos'') is a branch of the Ionian Sea in Western Greece. On the east, it is closed by the Strait of Rion between capes Rio, Greece, Rio and Antirrio, near the Rio-Antirrio bridge, that is the entrance of the Gulf of Corinth. On the west, it is bounded by a line from Oxeia island to Cape Araxos. To the north it is bounded by the shore of Aetolia-Acarnania in continental Greece, and to the south by Achaea in the Peloponnese peninsula. It is long, wide, and has an area of 350–400 km2. The port city of Patras lies to the southeast and is the only major port on the gulf. It serves ferries to Ancona and Brindisi in Italy and to Cephalonia. Sageika ( el, Σαγέικα, also: Σαγαίικα - ''Sagaiika'') is a village and a community in the municipal unit of Movri (municipality), Movri, western Achaea, Greece. The population of the village is about 1000. It is located in the plains between the Movri hills and the Gulf of Patras. It is 3 km west of Kareika, 6 km east of Metochi, Larissos, Metochi, 9 km southwest of Kato Achaia and 28 km southwest of Patras. The Greek National Road 9 (Patras - Pyrgos, Elis, Pyrgos) runs through the village. Sageika was the seat of the municipality of Movri, named for the Movri hills south of the village. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality West Achaea, of which it is the seat of administration. Araxos Airport ( el, Αεροδρόμιο Αράξου) is the airport of Patras, the third-largest city in Greece. It serves as a combined civilian and military airport and is located near its namesake, the village of Araxos, Achaea. It is also known as ''Agamemnon Airport'' and primarily is used as an active air base for the Hellenic Air Force, with some civilian services to European destinations during the summer months.
