Limestone County School District
Limestone County School District is a school district in Limestone County, Alabama, United States. It has its headquarters in Athens. Communities in the district include Ardmore, Elkmont, Lester, and Mooresville. Some parcels of Huntsville are in the Limestone district. History In 2011 the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) informed Barry Carroll, the superintendent, that a parent complained that Bibles had been distributed within the past three months on multiple occasions at one of the district's elementary schools. Carroll said that the allegations were "inaccurate or false." Student discipline and faculty policies The district has a zero tolerance policy towards fighting. Athens is a city in and the county seat of Limestone County, Alabama, Limestone County, in the U.S. state of Alabama; it is included in the Huntsville-Decatur-Albertville, AL Combined Statistical Area. Tanner High School
Tanner High School is a K–12 school located in Tanner, Alabama. It is a part of the Limestone County School District. Athletics On December 7, 2012, the Tanner Rattlers Football team made history by winning its first 2A Championship. The Rattlers beat the Washington County Bulldogs 28 to 14. On December 6, 2013, the Rattlers won their second 2A state championship in a rematch against the Washington County Bulldogs 21 to 13. Oscar Bonds is the current head coach. The school's basketball boys and girls teams both won state titles in 1985 and 2011 and are the only school in Alabama to do so. WAAY-TV (channel 31) is a television station in Huntsville, Alabama, United States, affiliated with ABC and owned by Allen Media Broadcasting. The station's studios and transmitter are located on Monte Sano Boulevard on top of Monte Sano Mountain. History The station's first broadcast was on August 1, 1959 as WAFG-TV. It was the second television outlet in the Huntsville region, signing on five years after NBC affiliate WMSL-TV (now WAFF).
