The Lima Pandas were a minor league baseball team based in Lima, Ohio. From 1939 to 1941 and 1944 to 1947, with the interruption due to World War II, Lima teams played exclusively as members of the Class D level Ohio State League, with the Pandas winning the 1939 and 1940 league championships. The franchise played as a minor league affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals in 1944, Cincinnati Reds in 1945 and Chicago White Sox in 1946 to 1947, with the team adopting new monikers during the affiliate seasons. Fostoria, Ohio
Fostoria (, ) is a city located at the convergence of Hancock, Seneca, and Wood counties in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of Ohio. It is approximately south of Toledo and north of Columbus. The city is known for its railroads, as approximately 100 trains pass through the city each day. The city is often visited by railfans, and a railroad viewing park, constructed in 2013 (dedicated 14 November 2013) hosts many railfans every day in a purpose-built viewing platform. Fostoria was also the home for over a dozen glass factories during the end of the 19th century. The glass factories were established in Fostoria because of the discovery of natural gas in the area. As the gas supply became depleted, many of the factories closed or moved—including the Fostoria Glass Company. Joe Nuxhall
Joseph Henry Nuxhall (; July 30, 1928 – November 15, 2007) was an American left-handed pitcher in Major League Baseball, primarily for the Cincinnati Reds. Immediately after retiring as a player, he became a radio broadcaster for the Reds from 1967 through 2004, and continued part-time up until his death in 2007. Nuxhall held the team's record for career games pitched (484) from 1965 to 1975, and still holds the team mark for left-handers. In addition to his 40 years of broadcasting Reds games, Nuxhall is most remembered for having been the youngest player ever to appear in a Major League game, pitching of an inning for the Reds on June 10, 1944, at the age of . Runt Marr
Clifton Ambrose Marr (November 23, 1891 – August 1, 1981, in Grove, Oklahoma, United States) was a baseball figure who spent many years playing, managing and scouting at the minor and major league levels. Marr played in the minor leagues from 1912 to 1916, from 1918 to 1928, from 1931 to 1932 and in 1937, a total of 19 seasons. Despite playing so long, he never reached the major leagues. His statistical record is incomplete, however it is known that he collected at least 1,939 hits, of which at least 361 were doubles, 85 were triples and 88 were home runs. He hit at least ten home runs four years in a row (1921-1924), with a career-high of 19 in 1924. Perhaps his best season was 1922, when he hit .347 with 44 doubles, 14 triples and 17 home runs for the Norfolk Elk Horns and Sioux City Packers. Marr managed in at least part of 15 seasons. The Zanesville Dodgers were a minor league baseball team based in Zanesville, Ohio.
