Lim Ah Siang
Kapitan China Lim Ah Siang (; 1853 – 19 February 1917), a timber merchant and steam saw miller, the founder of "Chop Sin Moh" Johor Bahru, was the third leader of the Ngee Heng Kongsi of Johor, a legitimised secret society based in Johor Bahru. He was appointed to the position not because he was the most prominent Chinese in Johor at the time but rather, because he was not. Early life Born in China Chaoyang, he came to Singapore illegally by boat. He assumed the leadership of the Ngee Heng Kongsi of Johor around 1885, after Tan Hiok Nee stepped down and retire to Singapore. But Lim Ah Siang was still only referred as Second Brother, the second most senior-ranking member in the secret society hierarchy, as Tan Hiok Nee continued to be a towering presence in nearby Singapore. Kapitan Cina, also spelled Kapitan China or Capitan China ( en, Captain of the Chinese; ; nl, Kapitein der Chinezen), was a high-ranking government position in the civil administration of colonial Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Borneo and the Philippines. Office holders exercised varying degrees of power and influence: from near-sovereign political and legal jurisdiction over local Chinese communities, to ceremonial precedence for community leaders. Seah Tee Heng
Kapitan China Seah Tee Heng (; ? – 1884), also known as Seah Tai Heng, was one of two Chinese members to the Council of State with Tan Hiok Nee. In about 1871, he appointed as third Kapitan China of Johor after Kapitan Tan Kee Soon and Kapitan Tan Cheng HungHe held the kangchu concession for Sekudai Ulu and had a gambier and pepper firm in Johor Bahru. Royal Johor Military Force
The Royal Johor Military Force ( Abbr.: JMF; ; Jawi: عسكر تيمبلن ستيا نڬري جوهر) is an independent military force of the state of Johor and the private royal guard of Sultan of Johor in Malaysia. The JMF is Malaysia's oldest active military unit still in operation and the only military in the Federation that is maintained by a state. The force comes under the control of the Sultan. Teo Eng Hock ( zh, 张永福; 1872 - 5 April 1959) was a rubber tycoon and the founder of the Singaporean branch of the Tongmenghui and later the Kuomintang. He later moved to China and became involved in politics there. Early life Teo was born in Singapore in 1872. Career Teo invested in rubber plantations and was the founder of a rubber shoe factory. He was also a cloth merchant. He initially supported the reformists and was a member of the Chinese Philomatic Society, but later began supporting Sun Yat Sen. In 1904, he established the ''Thoe Lam Jit Poh'' with fellow revolutionist , and was the paper's editor. However, the paper folded after two years due to financial difficulties. He used the Sin Chew Reading Room, Chinese Reading Room, which was established by fellow revolutionist Tay Sek Tin, to spread his revolutionary ideas. The Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall, also known as Wan Qing Yuan, and formerly as the Sun Yat Sen Villa, is a two-story colonial style villa in Balestier, Singapore.
