Lily Branscombe
Lily Branscombe (born Lillian Rodman, February 28, 1876 – September 26, 1970) was a stage and film actress from New Zealand. Biography Branscombe was born as Lillian Rodman in Carterton, in the North Island of New Zealand, and educated in New South Wales, Australia. She acted with the Maggie Moore Company in Australia and New Zealand before moving to the United States of America around 1900. There, she acted with the Frawley Company and later in silent films produced by the Essanay Company, opposite stars such as Francis X. Bushman, Bryant Washburn, and John Steppling. She also appeared in a number of episodes of the short comedic film series ''Alkali Ike'' in 1911 and 1912. Personal life In 1900, she married Herbert Ashton in San Francisco. Carterton ( mi, Taratahi) is a small town in the Wellington Region of New Zealand and the seat of the Carterton District (a territorial authority or local government district). Maggie Moore
Maggie Moore (April 10, 1851 – March 15, 1926) was an American-Australian actress born as Margaret Virginia Sullivan. She met and married producer J. C. Williamson in the U.S. and became popular as an actress in their production of '' Struck Oil'', which premiered in 1873 and was revived many times. Soon after their marriage, they took the play on a tour of Australia. It was such a success that they stayed there, where he founded the most successful theatrical company in Australia, and she became a leading actress. Moore was also successful in Williamson's Gilbert and Sullivan operas, other operetta productions, and other stage pieces. She continued a busy acting career in Australia and on tour worldwide, ending her marriage with Williamson and later marrying actor Harry R. Roberts. She retired in 1925 and moved to San Francisco. Bryant Washburn
Franklin Bryant Washburn III (April 28, 1889 – April 30, 1963) was an American film actor who appeared in more than 370 films between 1911 and 1947. Washburn's parents were Franklin Bryant Washburn II and Metha Catherine Johnson Washburn. He attended Lake View High School in Chicago. Washburn's early acting experience came in stock theater. He debuted in film in 1911 with Essanay Studios. He quickly became a comedy star after appearing in films such as ''Skinner's Baby'' and ''Skinner's Dress Suit'' in 1917. His second marriage was to actress Virginia Vance. They had a child together. He died from a heart attack in Hollywood. His interment was located in Culver City, California's Holy Cross Cemetery. His son, Bryant Washburn, Jr. (1915–1960), was also an actor, a major in the US Air Force Reserve, served during World War II and Korea, and predeceased him. John Steppling (8 August 1870 in Essen, Germany – 5 April 1932 in Hollywood, California) was a German-American silent film actor. He moved to America at a young age and entered film in 1912 aged 42. He starred in a total of 230 films between then and 1928. He is also credited with directing 7 films. He is the grandfather of playwright John Steppling.
