Lillian Ross (born ) is a former politician in Ontario, Canada. She was a Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario, Progressive Conservative member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1995 to 1999. Background Ross was born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario. She worked as a real estate agent and owned a women's clothing store. She was married to Don Ross, a Hamilton, Ontario City Council, Hamilton city councillor. Together they raised two children. Hamilton West was a federal electoral district in Ontario, Canada, that was represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1904 to 2004. History The federal riding was created when the old riding of Hamilton was split in 1903. In 1903, the city of Hamilton was divided into two electoral districts: Hamilton East and Hamilton West. Hamilton West consisted of wards 2, 3, 4, and 5 of the city. The boundaries expanded ever eastward as the population centre did, but it always included the neighbourhoods of Ainslie Wood, Westdale and downtown Hamilton. The 1999 Ontario general election was held on June 3, 1999 to elect members of the 37th Legislative Assembly of the Province of Ontario, Canada. The governing Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario, led by Premier Mike Harris, was re-elected to a second majority government. It was the first election in which the Legislative Assembly of Ontario had a reduced number of seats. Previously, the province's riding boundaries were different from those used in federal elections. Mike Harris
Michael Deane Harris (born January 23, 1945) is a Canadian retired politician who served as the 22nd premier of Ontario from 1995 to 2002 and leader of the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario (PC Party) from 1990 to 2002. Richard Alexander Allen (February 10, 1929 – March 5, 2019) was an historian and former politician in Ontario, Canada. He sat as a New Democratic Party member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1982 to 1995, and was a cabinet minister in the government of Bob Rae. Background Allen was born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto, a Master's Degree from the University of Saskatchewan and a Ph.D. from Duke University. He was a professor at the University of Regina from 1964 to 1974 where he initiated interdisciplinary prairie studies and founded the Canadian Plans Research Centre.
