''Lil Pump'' is the debut studio album by American rapper Lil Pump. It was released on October 6, 2017, by Tha Lights Global and Warner Records. The album features guest appearances from frequent collaborator Smokepurpp, alongside Lil Yachty, Chief Keef, Gucci Mane, 2 Chainz and Rick Ross. It also features production from Bighead, Ronny J, Mr. 2-17 and CBMix, among others. It was supported by five singles – "Boss", "Flex Like Ouu", " D Rose", "Molly" and " Gucci Gang". Gazzy Garcia (born August 17, 2000), better known professionally as Lil Pump, is an American rapper. He is one of the most prominent artists of the SoundCloud rap scene and is known for his minimalist music and hyperactive public persona. Lil Pump rose to prominence in 2017 with his hit single " Gucci Gang", which peaked at number 3 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and was certified five-times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. Omar Jeffery Pineiro (born May 15, 1997), known professionally as Smokepurpp, is an American rapper. Originally a record producer, Pineiro later found success on the audio distribution platform SoundCloud in 2017 from his surge in popularity due to his track "Audi". Pineiro released his debut commercial mixtape '' Deadstar'' on September 29, 2017, and the mixtape peaked at number 42 on the ''Billboard'' 200 albums chart. The album-equivalent unit, or album equivalent, is a measurement unit in music industry to define the consumption of music that equals the purchase of one album copy. This consumption includes streaming and song downloads in addition to traditional album sales. The album-equivalent unit was introduced in the mid-2010s as an answer to the drop of album sales in the 21st century. Album sales more than halved from 1999 to 2009, declining from a $14.6 to $6.3 billion industry. For instance, the only albums that went platinum in the United States in 2014 were the ''Frozen'' soundtrack and Taylor Swift's ''1989'', whereas several artists' works had in 2013. The usage of the album-equivalent units revolutionized the charts from the "best-selling albums" ranking into the "most popular albums" ranking.
