Katherine Mariko Zhang (born March 1, 1997), known professionally as Lil Mariko, is a Asian Americans, Chinese-Japanese-American rapper, songwriter and artist. Her first single "Where's My Juul??" released in 2019 as a collaboration between herself and producer boyfriend Jared Soule (known professionally as Full Tac), became a Viral video, viral internet hit with over 23 million views across YouTube and Spotify. Her debut self-titled EP, ''Lil Mariko (EP), Lil Mariko'' was released in 2021. Early life Katherine Mariko Zhang was born to a Chinese father and a Japanese mother in 1997. Her family lived in Taipei for a while before permanently moving to Houston, Texas where she would spend most of her childhood. Zhang played violin in middle school and graduated high school in 2014. ''Lil Mariko'' is the debut EP by American singer Lil Mariko, independently released on March 18, 2021. It was produced by Mariko's boyfriend and creative partner Jared Soule, otherwise known as Full Tac. Background and promotion The first single that would later be compiled in the EP was "Don't Touch" featuring Full Tac, released on April 21, 2020. The second, "Shiny" also featuring Full Tac was released on September 4, 2020. A music video followed on March 20, 2021, two days after the EP's release. The Okra Project
The Okra Project is an American mutual aid collective that provides support to black trans, non-binary, and gender-nonconforming people. The organization is based in New York City. As of January 2023, Gabrielle Inès Souza serves as the Executive Director of the Okra Project. History The Okra Project was founded in January 2018 to combat food insecurity among Black trans people. The organizations beginning mission focused on hiring and training Black trans people as chefs who then would provide meals for fellow community members in the comfort of their homes.
