No Limit Records is an American record company founded by Master P. The label's albums were distributed by Priority Records, Universal Music Group, Universal and Koch Records. The label included artists such as Snoop Dogg, Mercedes (singer), Mercedes, Silkk the Shocker, Mystikal, Mia X, Mac (rapper), Mac, C-Murder, Magic (rapper), Magic, Romeo Miller, Fiend (rapper), Fiend, Kane & Abel (group), Kane & Abel, and Soulja Slim. Anthony Boswell, head of Bout It Bout It Management, served as the vice president of operations as well as head of management for the label. In the late nineties, No Limit Records enjoyed mainstream success with releases such as Master P's "Ghetto D", T.R.U.'s "Tru 2 da Game", and Snoop Dogg's "Da Game Is to Be Sold, Not to Be Told". Percy Robert Miller Sr. (born April 29, 1967), known by his stage name Master P, is an American rapper, record executive, record producer, actor, and entrepreneur. He is the founder of the record label No Limit Records, which was relaunched as New No Limit Records through Universal Records and Koch Records, and again as Guttar Music Entertainment, and currently, No Limit Forever Records. He is also the founder and CEO of P. Miller Enterprises and Better Black Television, which was a short-lived online television network. Miller gained fame in the mid-1990s with the success of his hip hop group TRU as well as his fifth solo rap album '' Ice Cream Man'', which contained his first single " Mr. Ice Cream Man". Michael Lawrence Tyler (born September 22, 1970), better known by his stage name Mystikal, is an American rapper. Early life and education Tyler grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana's 12th Ward. His father, who ran a small neighborhood store, died when Tyler was seven. He attended Cohen High School and afterward joined the United States Army as a combat engineer. As an aspiring rapper, he opened for Run-DMC and Doug E. Fresh at an outdoor concert at the Treme Center. Edward Lee Knight (November 2, 1971 – July 24, 2001), best known by his stage name Big Ed the Assassin, often shortened to Big Ed, was an American rapper. Knight was signed to Master P's No Limit Records in 1992, and appeared on numerous No Limit releases during the 1990s, contributing to releases by Master P, C-Murder, Mac, Soulja Slim and more. Knight later released his debut album, The Assassin through No Limit Records in 1998. Knight would go on to leave No Limit in 2000, starting his own label, Special Forces Records. Knight released his second album, Special Forces, through the label on May 9, 2000. Knights third and final album, Edward Lee Knight 1971-2001, was released posthumously in August 2002. Pen & Pixel Graphics, Inc is a Houston, Texas-based graphics design firm that specializes in musical album covers, especially for gangsta rap artists in the Southern United States. For a long time, it was the house design firm for No Limit Records, Cash Money Records, and Suave House Records. The company was started in 1992 by brothers Aaron and Shawn Brauch. The Brauch brothers and their staff worked with over 8,000 clients and completed 19,180 album covers before the company closed its doors in 2003. The brothers cited peer-to-peer file sharing website Napster and the September 11 attacks as reasons for the close; artists were reluctant to fly to Houston to view artwork that listeners would be unlikely to see. The album covers Pen & Pixel produced have been described as "gaudy" and "outrageous". Common themes included bullets, cars, drugs, fire, gems, money, women, and other examples of wealth and riches.
