Liga Betcris de Honduras (''Honduran National Professional Football League'') is the highest division of football in Honduras. The league season is divided into Opening (autumn) and Closing (spring). One team is relegated to the Liga de Ascenso (the team with fewest points in Opening and Closing) and one team is promoted from Liga de Ascenso. The top four clubs participate in play-offs to decide the champion. The winners of the Opening and Closing competitions participate in the CONCACAF Champions League. La Ceiba () is a municipality, the capital of the Honduran department of Atlántida (department), Atlántida and a port city on the northern coast of Honduras in Central America. Estadio Juan Ramón Brevé Vargas is a soccer venue in Juticalpa, Honduras. It is the headquarters of Juticalpa FC and Olancho FC, both of the Liga de Ascenso de Honduras. Juticalpa () is the capital of Olancho Department in Honduras, with a population of 69,850 (2020 calculation), and the municipal seat of Juticalpa Municipality. Situated in a broad river valley alongside the Rio Juticalpa, the town is a commercial centre for much of Olancho's ranching and agricultural economy. Estadio Yankel Rosenthal is a multi-purpose use stadium in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. Renovations were completed in 2009, and it will now be used primarily for football matches. It is the home stadium of San Pedro Sula-based Marathón, the second oldest team in the nation, founded November 25, 1925. The stadium has a capacity of 5,500 spectators. The project, which was scheduled to be finalized in its entirety by 2007, was rescheduled to 2009 due to financial issues. The stadium is named after Marathón's current president and part owner Yankel Rosenthal, who started building the stadium, making Marathón the first and only Honduran football club to own its own stadium.
