Liga Amateur De Veracruz
Liga Amateur de Veracruz was a former football league in Mexico founded by local businessmen in the state of Veracruz, where clubs from the State of Veracruz played from 1908 to 1943.The league folded in 1943 when the Primera División de México the first professional league in Mexico was founded. Important clubs came out of this club such as Orizaba, Veracruz Sporting Club, Iberia de Córdoba, Iberia de Veracruz, and Moctezuma. History As early as 1894 clubs around the State of Veracruz were being founded and having friendly matches. The first clubs to be established in 1898 was Albinegros de Orizaba along with other clubs formed and sponsored by local factories. Most of the players who made up these clubs were workers and minors from the factories and mines around the city owned by Scottish and English men who had just arrived to the state. Albinegros De Orizaba
Club Deportivo Albinegros de Orizaba was a football club of the city of Orizaba, in the state of Veracruz. Founded in 1898 as "Orizaba Athletic Club", it was founded by Scottish migrant Duncan Mac Comish Mac Donald who owned a local steel company. In the beginning, the club hosted cricket among other sports. The club had the honour of being Mexico's first ever football champion in 1903 when the club played in the old Primera Fuerza. The club was among the first other to play in the Primera División de México in 1943 which was the first ever professional league in the nation history. Veracruz Sporting Club
Veracruz Sporting Club is a Mexican football team from Veracruz, Veracruz State, playing in the Tercera División de México. They were one of Liga MX's inaugural members. History The club was founded in 1908 by the native Spaniards living in Veracruz in the early 1900s. The first owners were the brothers Ángel and Mariano Rivera. The club played in the old Liga amateur de Veracruz from 1908 when in 1931 they were invited to pay in the Liga amateur del Distrito Federal after clubs México FC and Real Club España left some spots open due to economical problems. After the 1920s the Primera Fuerza decided to only admit clubs from the city of Mexico and so the club return to action in the local Liga Amateur de Veracruz where they managed to win 12 titles till the league folded in 1943 after the Mexican league in Mexico city was professionalize and allowed all clubs from the nation to take part in. Iberia de Veracruz was a former Mexican football team that played in the Liga Amateur de Veracruz prior to the professionalization and development of the Mexican first division. The club was established in 1915 and was dissolved in 1943. Liga Amateur de Veracruz Iberia de Córdoba played in the Liga Amateur de Veracruz and became champions in the 1917–18 season. In 1918, after winning the title, the club was invited to play in the Primera Fuerza by Club España to replace España B. Moctezuma de Orizaba was a Mexican football team that played in the '' Liga Mexicana de Football Amateur Association'' prior to the professionalization and development of the Mexican first division. The club was based in the city of Orizaba and folded in 1950. History The club was founded in 1932 by workers from the Moctezuma brewery in Orizaba Veracruz.
