Liga ASOBAL 2007–08 season was the 18th since its establishment. A total of 16 teams competed this season for the championship. Competition format The competition was played in a round-robin format, through 30 rounds. The team with most points earned wins the championship. The last two teams were relegated. Liga ASOBAL
Liga Asobal is the premier professional handball league in Spain. It was founded in 1958 with the name of División de Honor, changing its name to the current name in 1990. The Liga ASOBAL, which is played under EHF rules, currently consists of 16 teams, including famous ones like FC Barcelona, Ademar León, Bidasoa and Granollers. EHF Champions League
The Men's EHF Champions League is the most important club handball competition for men's teams in Europe and involves the leading teams from the top European nations. The competition is organised every year by EHF. The official name for the men's competition is the EHF Champions League Men. The EHF coefficient rank decides which teams have access and in which stage they enter. Eligibility and qualifying Each year, the EHF publishes a ranking list of its member federations. The first 9 nations are automatically permitted to participate in the tournament with their national champion. The national federation ranked one in the EHF European League currently Germany, is awarded a second qualification berth for the domestic runner-up. Dalibor Čutura
Dalibor Čutura (; born 14 June 1975) is a Serbian handball coach and former player. Club career Over the course of his career that spanned more than 25 years, Čutura played for Crvenka, Sintelon, Železničar Niš (1997–1998), Fotex Veszprém (1998–1999), Lovćen (1999–2001), Pilotes Posada (2001–2002), Alcobendas (2002–2003), Arrate (2003–2010), Ademar León (2010–2012), HCM Constanța (2012–2015), and Dobrogea Sud Constanța (2015–2019). Ivan Čupić
Ivan Čupić (born 27 March 1986) is a Croatian handball player who plays for RK Zagreb and the Croatia men's national handball team, Croatian national team. Career He was selected by the Croatia men's national handball team, Croatian national team for the 2009 World Men's Handball Championship. He scored 8 goals in the opening match against South Korea men's national handball team, South Korea, settling as the top scorer after the first day. He also played in the Croatian team that won the bronze medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Čupić missed the 2008 Summer Olympics, Games of XXIX Olympiad in Beijing, after losing his left ring finger in bizarre accident in July 2008. Siarhei Rutenka, also Sergej Rutenka ( be, Сяргей Рутэнка; born 29 September 1981) is a Belarusian former handball player. Besides Belarusian citizenship, he also acquired Slovenian citizenship in 2003. In January 2008, he received the Spanish nationality. Håvard Tvedten
Håvard Tvedten (born 29 June 1978) is a Norwegian former handball player. Known for his technical skills and goal-scoring abilities, Tvedten played for clubs in Norway, Denmark and Spain during his career, and was voted best left wing at the 2011 World Championship. He retired from handball in 2016 and has later worked as a pundit. Tvedten made his debut for the Norwegian national team in 2000 and would later often captain the national team. He made his senior international championship debut at the 2001 World Championship and represented Norway at every international championship from 2005 to 2012. Alen Muratović
Alen Muratović, (born 23 October 1979) is a Montenegrin former handball player. Club career After playing for Budućnost Podgorica, Muratović joined Yugoslav champions Lovćen in 2001. He helped them win two consecutive national cups (2002 and 2003). In 2003, Muratović moved abroad to Spain and signed with Cangas. He would switch to fellow Liga ASOBAL club Valladolid in 2005. In 2008, Muratović was transferred to German team SG Flensburg-Handewitt. He suffered a shoulder injury during a friendly game in January 2009, causing him to miss the rest of the season.
