Liga ASOBAL 2006–07 season was the 17th since its establishment. A total of 16 teams competed this season for the championship. Competition format The competition was played in a round-robin format, through 30 rounds. The team with most points earned wins the championship. The last two teams were relegated. Liga ASOBAL
Liga Asobal is the premier professional handball league in Spain. It was founded in 1958 with the name of División de Honor, changing its name to the current name in 1990. The Liga ASOBAL, which is played under EHF rules, currently consists of 16 teams, including famous ones like FC Barcelona, Ademar León, Bidasoa and Granollers. EHF Champions League
The Men's EHF Champions League is the most important club handball competition for men's teams in Europe and involves the leading teams from the top European nations. The competition is organised every year by EHF. The official name for the men's competition is the EHF Champions League Men. The EHF coefficient rank decides which teams have access and in which stage they enter. Eligibility and qualifying Each year, the EHF publishes a ranking list of its member federations. The first 9 nations are automatically permitted to participate in the tournament with their national champion. The national federation ranked one in the EHF European League currently Germany, is awarded a second qualification berth for the domestic runner-up. Renato Vugrinec
Renato Vugrinec (born 9 June 1975) is a Slovenian-Macedonian retired handball player. Before switching his national team alliagance, Vugrinec was a long time member of Slovenia men's national handball team and represented the country on several international tournaments, including the 2000 and the 2004 Summer Olympics, before retiring from international play in 2010. Since March 2014 he became eligible to play for Macedonia national handball team, after receiving the country's citizenship in late 2013, and he has made his debut for their national team in June 2014. Alen Muratović
Alen Muratović, (born 23 October 1979) is a Montenegrin former handball player. Club career After playing for Budućnost Podgorica, Muratović joined Yugoslav champions Lovćen in 2001. He helped them win two consecutive national cups (2002 and 2003). In 2003, Muratović moved abroad to Spain and signed with Cangas. He would switch to fellow Liga ASOBAL club Valladolid in 2005. In 2008, Muratović was transferred to German team SG Flensburg-Handewitt. He suffered a shoulder injury during a friendly game in January 2009, causing him to miss the rest of the season. Håvard Tvedten (born 29 June 1978) is a Norwegian former handball player. Known for his technical skills and goal-scoring abilities, Tvedten played for clubs in Norway, Denmark and Spain during his career, and was voted best left wing at the 2011 World Championship. He retired from handball in 2016 and has later worked as a pundit. Tvedten made his debut for the Norwegian national team in 2000 and would later often captain the national team. He made his senior international championship debut at the 2001 World Championship and represented Norway at every international championship from 2005 to 2012.
