Lifesblood
''Lifesblood'' is the second EP by American metal band Mastodon. It was released on CD in 2001 and vinyl in 2004 by Relapse Records. The title ''Lifesblood'' is derived from a lyric in the song "Trampled Under Hoof", which appears on their debut album, Remission. Since the EP was only printed for a limited time, it has become rare and sought after by Mastodon fans. The limited prints come in a variety of colors, each with a certain amount produced: 100 clear, 500 red, 500 black, and a second press of 500 blue and black. Content ''Lifesblood'' features re-recordings of five songs from Mastodon's first release, ''9 Song Demo''. All five tracks later appeared on the compilation album '' Call of the Mastodon''. Mastodon (band)
Mastodon is an American heavy metal band from Atlanta, Georgia. Formed in 2000, the band's lineup of Troy Sanders (bass/vocals), Brent Hinds (lead guitar/vocals), Bill Kelliher (rhythm guitar/backing vocals) and Brann Dailor (drums/vocals) has remained the same since 2001. Mastodon has released eight studio albums, as well as a number of other releases. The band's 2002 debut album, '' Remission'', garnered significant critical acclaim for its unique sound. Mastodon's second full-length release, ''Leviathan'', is a concept album based on the novel ''Moby-Dick'' by Herman Melville. Troy Sanders
Troy Jayson Sanders (born September 8, 1973) is an American musician, best known as a member of heavy metal band Mastodon, in which he plays bass and sings alongside guitarist Brent Hinds and drummer Brann Dailor. He is also active in Killer Be Killed and Gone Is Gone, as well as being the current touring bassist for Thin Lizzy. Biography Sanders first played when he had picked up his older brother Kyle's bass and decided to try it out, even though the bass was strung for a lefty, and he was right-handed. A few months later, he had talked his dad into buying him a bass. He started first playing in such bands as Four Hour Fogger, Knuckle and Puaka Balava. In 1995, Sanders joined the grindcore band Social Infestation as the bass player. Social Infestation has released one EP and two full-length albums. ''Remission'' is the debut album by American heavy metal band Mastodon. It was released on May 28, 2002 through Relapse Records and was re-released on October 21, 2003. Production Most of the songs were written long before the album was recorded. "Workhorse" was premiered live in Memphis in July 2001. "Trampled Under Hoof", "Trilobite", "Where Strides the Behemoth", "Crusher Destroyer" and "Mother Puncher" were all played on a WFMU radio show on August 7, 2001, and "Trainwreck" was written while Eric Saner was still in the band. At the beginning of "Crusher Destroyer" is the roar of the ''Tyrannosaurus rex'' from the film ''Jurassic Park'' with Lex saying her brother's name, "Timmy!", as they get attacked in the jeep. ''Call of the Mastodon'' is a compilation album of early recordings from the American metal band Mastodon. It was released on February 7, 2006, by Relapse Records. Content ''Call of the Mastodon'' contains the same nine songs as Mastodon's first release, ''9 Song Demo''; however, the compilation features re-recorded versions of the songs (the same recordings which appeared on the band's early EPs ''Slick Leg'' and ''Lifesblood''). For this reason, guitarist/vocalist Brent Hinds referred to ''Call of the Mastodon'' as the band's first studio album in a documentary on the making of ''Crack the Skye''. Jesco White, also known as the "Dancing Outlaw" (born July 30, 1956) is an American folk dancer and entertainer. He is best known as the subject of three American documentary films that detail his desire to follow in his famous father's footsteps while dealing with depression, drug addiction, alcoholism, and the poverty that affects some parts of rural Appalachia. Bill Kelliher
William Breen Kelliher (born March 23, 1971) is an American musician, best known as the rhythm guitarist of heavy metal band Mastodon, and being the only band member who doesn't share the lead vocal duty. Early life Kelliher is an Irish citizen, he holds dual citizenship with the United States and Ireland. His father is an Irish immigrant who, in his teenage years, moved to the U.S. from Killorglin, County Kerry, Ireland. Career Kelliher performs a number of different roles within Mastodon. These include backing vocals during live performances, complex guitar parts and occasional lead guitar. He is also running the samples and ambiance in between and during songs. Brent Hinds
William Brent Hinds (born January 16, 1974) is an American musician best known as a member of the Atlanta, Georgia metal band Mastodon, in which he shares guitar duties with Bill Kelliher and vocal duties with Troy Sanders and Brann Dailor. Hinds is also lead guitarist/singer for the surfabilly band Fiend Without a Face, and is involved in other projects, including classic rock bands The Blood Vessels, West End Motel, Four Hour Fogger, The Last of the Blue Eyed Devils, Giraffe Tongue Orchestra, and Legend of the Seagullmen. Brann Dailor
Brann Timothy Dailor (born March 19, 1975) is an American musician, best known as a member of heavy metal band Mastodon, in which he is the drummer and one of three vocalists. Career Dailor first started playing in a band called Evisceration from 1991 to 1993, when the band broke up. Dailor was also a founding member of mathcore band Lethargy, and the progressive rock/funk metal band Gaylord and played with Today Is the Day. In 2015, Dailor announced his side project called Arcadea. The group features Dailor on drums alongside Atlanta musicians Core Atoms and Raheem Amlani. One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest (film)
''One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest'' is a 1975 American psychological comedy drama film directed by Miloš Forman, based on the 1962 novel of the same name by Ken Kesey. The film stars Jack Nicholson who plays a new patient at a mental institution alongside Louise Fletcher who plays an austere nurse. It also features a supporting cast of Will Sampson, Danny DeVito, Sydney Lassick, William Redfield, as well as Christopher Lloyd and Brad Dourif in their film debuts. Filming began in January 1975 and lasted three months, taking place on location in Salem, Oregon, and the surrounding area, as well as Depoe Bay on the north Oregon coast.
