Life imprisonment is any sentence of imprisonment for a crime under which convicted people are to remain in prison for the rest of their natural lives or indefinitely until pardoned, paroled, or otherwise commuted to a fixed term. Crimes for which, in some countries, a person could receive this sentence include murder, torture, terrorism, child abuse resulting in death, rape, espionage, treason, drug trafficking, drug possession, human trafficking, severe fraud and financial crimes, aggravated criminal damage, arson, kidnapping, burglary, and robbery, piracy, aircraft hijacking, and genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes or any three felonies in case of three-strikes law. Life imprisonment (as a maximum term) can also be imposed, in certain countries, for traffic offences causing death. Lifer is an American Rock music, rock band formed in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, United States in 1999. They were originally active from 1999 to 2002, releasing their sole full-length album through the major label Universal Music Group, Universal Music and Republic Records. ''NOLA'' was written mainly by Phil Anselmo and Pepper Keenan between 1990 and 1995. Throughout 1991 to 1993, the band released three demos, a three-track demo (1991), a four-track demo (1992), and a ten-track demo (1993). Meredith Cody Jinks (born August 18, 1980) is an American outlaw country music singer and songwriter. His breakout 2016 album, ''I'm Not the Devil'', reached No. 4 on the ''Billboard'' Country Albums chart, while a number of other albums such as ''Lifers'', ''After the Fire'', and '' The Wanting'' reached No. 2 on the same chart. Early life Cody Jinks is a native of Haltom City, near Fort Worth, Texas, United States, and attended Haltom High School. He started learning to play a few country music riffs on the guitar from his father when he was 16, but soon formed a heavy metal band. Music career Jinks started out as the lead singer of a thrash metal band from Fort Worth named Unchecked Aggression, initially named Silas, that was active from 1998 to 2003. ''Lifers'' (stylized in all caps as ''LIFERS'') is the ninth studio album by American alternative rock duo Local H, released on April 10, 2020 through AntiFragile. The album features the band working with engineer Steve Albini and appearances from Juliana Hatfield and John McCauley of Deer Tick. The album was released on digital, CD, vinyl, and cassette tape formats. The record marks the second full-length studio recording to feature Ryan Harding on drums.
