Life Gamble
''Life Gamble'', also known as ''Life Combat'', is a 1979 Hong Kong Wuxia film directed by Chang Cheh and starring the Venoms, Kara Hui and Alexander Fu Sheng. It was written by Chang Cheh and I Kuang and produced by the Shaw Brothers Studio. Plot A complex story, about a stolen piece of jade which was originally stolen by 4 thieves (Dick Wei, Bruce Tong, Lau Wai Ling & Suen Shi Pau) that falls into the hands of a habitual gambler named Mao Kai Yuan, knowns as "The Golden Lion" (Wang Lung Wei) and his arrogant anti-hero bodyguard Yun Xiang (Fu Sheng), a knife throwing expert. Chang Cheh
Chang Cheh (; 10 February 1923 – 22 June 2002) was a Chinese people, Chinese filmmaker, screenwriter, lyricist and producer active in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. Chang Cheh directed more than 90 films in Greater China, the majority of them with the Shaw Brothers Studio in Hong Kong. Most of his films are action films, especially ''wuxia'' and ''kung fu'' films filled with violence. In the early 1970s he frequently cast actors David Chiang and Ti Lung in his films. In the late 1970s he mainly worked with a group of actors known as the Venom Mob. Chang Cheh is also known for his long-time collaboration with writer Ni Kuang. Venom Mob
The Venom Mob is the colloquial title of a group of actors from the Shaw Brothers Studio, popular creators of martial arts films in the 1970s and 1980s. Most were friends since childhood and attended the Fu Sheng Drama School in Taiwan before meeting director Chang Cheh and moving on to the Shaw Brothers studio in Hong Kong. They appeared in numerous Shaw films, but did not become a group in high demand until ''Five Deadly Venoms''. They were the main choreographers in all of their films, highly skilled Chinese weapon experts, talented actors, and excellent acrobats. Their films usually dealt with Chang Cheh's common themes of brotherhood, valor, and betrayal. Kung Fu Films
Kung fu film () is a subgenre of martial arts films and Hong Kong action cinema set in the contemporary period and featuring realistic martial arts. ''House of Traps'' is a 1982 Shaw Brothers film directed by Chang Cheh, starring the Venom Mob. The story is based on the 19th-century novel ''The Seven Heroes and Five Gallants''. Plot When a corrupt prince arranges for the theft of a highly valuable jade antique the emperor dispatches his best men to retrieve it. Danny Lee (; born 6 August 1952) is a Hong Kong actor, film producer, screenwriter, director, action director and presenter. He is known for frequently portraying Hong Kong police officers in films such as ''Law with Two Phases'', '' The Killer'' and ''The Untold Story,'' as well as being a Shaw Brothers alumnus, having starred in martial arts and action movies produced by that studio such as '' Inframan.''
