''Life Begins at 40 Million'' is an album by The Bogmen. It was produced by Jerry Harrison. It was by far the more commercially successful of the two Bogmen albums. The album sold more than 50,000 copies. Critical reception AllMusic wrote that the album "lacks direction and any semblance of cohesiveness. Interesting it may be, but better than average it isn't." The Bogmen
The Bogmen are an indie rock band from Huntington, Long Island, New York. The band was formed in 1993 by Billy Campion, Bill Ryan, Brendan Ryan, Mark Wike, P.J. O'Connor and Clive Tucker. Although they were signed by major label Arista Records in 1995, they fell just short of mainstream success. Despite breaking up in 1999, they have reunited several times in order to raise money for charity, and have produced a DVD. They currently play a few times a year in New York City and the Long Island area. History Billy Campion met Bill and Brendan Ryan in the late 1970s. Sharing a passion for music, they started a band, The Plummers. During college, the group picked up bassist Mark Wike, drummer Clive Tucker and percussionist P. J. O'Connor. With this lineup, the band called itself The Bogmen, in honor of what Campion called its "tribal, huntish" sound. Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. Jerry Harrison
Jeremiah Griffin Harrison (born February 21, 1949) is an American songwriter, musician, producer, and entrepreneur. He began his professional music career as a member of the cult band the Modern Lovers before becoming keyboardist and guitarist for the new wave band Talking Heads. In 2002, Harrison was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Talking Heads. Since Talking Heads went on indefinite hiatus in 1991, Harrison has focused more on producing other bands, a role he started while still with Talking Heads, beginning with the Violent Femmes third album ''The Blind Leading the Naked'' in 1986. During the 1990s, he produced a number of hit albums for bands such as Live, The Verve Pipe, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, and Kenny Wayne Shepherd among others. Timothy White (January 25, 1952 – June 27, 2002) was an American rock music journalist and editor. White began his journalism career as a writer for the Associated Press, but soon gravitated towards music writing. He was an editor for the rock magazine ''Crawdaddy'' in the late 1970s and a senior editor for ''Rolling Stone'' magazine in the early 1980s, where he wrote an article detailing the destruction of Bob Hope's face in a logging accident when Hope was in his teens, accounting for Hope's unusual nose and jaw. White was editor-in-chief of ''Billboard'' beginning in 1991. An album is a collection of audio recordings issued on compact disc (CD), vinyl, audio tape, or another medium such as digital distribution.
