Lifa Ntanzi
Lifa Ntanzi (born 13 August 2001) is a South African cricketer. He made his Twenty20 debut for KwaZulu-Natal in the 2019–20 CSA Provincial T20 Cup on 13 September 2019. He made his List A debut on 13 March 2020, for Dolphins in the 2019–20 Momentum One Day Cup. He made his first-class debut on 9 November 2020, also for Dolphins, in the 2020–21 CSA 4-Day Franchise Series. In April 2021, Ntazni was named in the South Africa Emerging Men's squad for their six-match tour of Namibia. Cricket
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Means of dismissal include being bowled, when the ball hits the stumps and dislodges the bails, and by the fielding side either catching the ball after it is hit by the bat, but before it hits the ground, or hitting a wicket with the ball before a batter can cross the crease in front of the wicket. Twenty20
Twenty20 (T20) is a shortened game format of cricket. At the professional level, it was introduced by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in 2003 for the inter-county competition. In a Twenty20 game, the two teams have a single innings each, which is restricted to a maximum of 20 overs. Together with first-class and List A cricket, Twenty20 is one of the three current forms of cricket recognised by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as being at the highest international or domestic level. A typical Twenty20 game is completed in about two and a half hours, with each innings lasting around 70 minutes and an official 10-minute break between the innings. KwaZulu-Natal (cricket Team)
KwaZulu-Natal (formerly Natal) is the first-class cricket team that represents the province of KwaZulu-Natal (formerly Natal) in South Africa. For the purposes of the Sunfoil Series, KwaZulu-Natal is the only team that has not merged with another and it has played in the SuperSport Series (as it was named then) as the Dolphins since October 2004. However, the KwaZulu-Natal Inland cricket team was granted first-class status in 2006, began competing in the CSA Provincial Competitions in 2006-2007, and also represented by the Dolphins franchise. 2019–20 CSA Provincial T20 Cup
The 2019–20 CSA Provincial T20 Cup was a domestic Twenty cricket tournament that took place in South Africa in September 2019, as a curtain-raiser to the 2019–20 South African domestic season. It was played between the thirteen South African provincial teams, along with Limpopo and Mpumalanga. This was the sixth edition of the CSA Provincial T20 Cup, which was last played in the 2015–16 season. With only domestic teams from South Africa taking part, the tournament returned in place of the Africa T20 Cup, which had been held since 2015. On the opening day of matches, Jonathan Vandiar scored an unbeaten century for Northerns against Gauteng in Pool A. List A Cricket
List A cricket is a classification of the limited-overs (one-day) form of the sport of cricket, with games lasting up to eight hours. List A cricket includes One Day International (ODI) matches and various domestic competitions in which the number of overs in an innings per team ranges from forty to sixty, as well as some international matches involving nations who have not achieved official ODI status. Dolphins (cricket Team)
The Hollywoodbets Dolphins are a cricket team representing the KwaZulu-Natal (Coastal) province in South Africa. They take part in the CSA 4-Day Series first-class competition, the Momentum One-Day Cup and the Mzansi Super League T20 competition. The team's home venues are Kingsmead Cricket Ground, Durban and the Pietermaritzburg Oval in Pietermaritzburg. History The Dolphins were originally created as an entirely professional franchise team after the South African domestic format was restructured in 2004-05. 2019–20 Momentum One Day Cup
The 2019–20 Momentum One Day Cup was a domestic one-day cricket tournament that took place in South Africa. It was the 39th edition of the championship, with the tournament originally scheduled to run from 31 January to 21 March 2020. Titans were the defending champions. Following the conclusion of the group stage, Dolphins, Lions, Warriors and Knights had qualified for the semi-finals. However, on 16 March 2020, Cricket South Africa suspended all cricket in the country for 60 days due to the COVID-19 pandemic. First-class Cricket
First-class cricket, along with List A cricket and Twenty20 cricket, is one of the highest-standard forms of cricket. A first-class match is one of three or more days' scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams. Matches must allow for the teams to play two innings each, although in practice a team might play only one innings or none at all. The etymology of "first-class cricket" is unknown, but it was used loosely before it acquired official status in 1895, following a meeting of leading English clubs. 2020–21 CSA 4-Day Franchise Series
The 2020–21 CSA 4-Day Franchise Series was a first-class cricket competition that took place in South Africa from November 2020 to March 2021. Six teams took part in the tournament, split into two groups. Lions were the defending champions. Ahead of the opening round of fixtures, Warriors withdrew six members of its team due to COVID-19. Two players tested positive, with another four players withdrawn from being in direct contact with the two positive cases. The round five fixture between Titans and Dolphins was called off on the morning of day two, after a player returned a positive test for COVID-19.
