Liemarvin Bonevacia (born 5 April 1989) is a Dutch sprinter who was born in Willemstad, Curaçao. Career He was one of four people to participate in the 2012 Summer Olympics as "Independent Olympic Athletes". Bonevacia competed in the 400 m and was eliminated in the semifinals, when he injured his right hamstring and finished last. He now represents the Netherlands. With his 44.72, achieved in the 2015 World Championships 400 m heats, Bonevacia is the current Dutch recordholder. Hamstring
In human anatomy, a hamstring () is any one of the three posterior thigh muscles in between the hip and the knee (from medial to lateral: semimembranosus, semitendinosus and biceps femoris). The hamstrings are susceptible to injury. In quadrupeds, the hamstring is the single large tendon found behind the knee or comparable area. The event was won by Kirani James of Grenada, earning the country its first Olympic medal. Luguelín Santos's silver was the Dominican Republic's first medal in the men's 400 metres. Lalonde Gordon's bronze was Trinidad and Tobago's first medal in the event since 1964.
