Lielvārde Station
Lielvārde Station (until 1926, ''Rembate'') is a railway station on the Riga–Daugavpils Railway in Latvia. It is located in Vidzeme in Lielvarde, the Lielvārde Municipality center. All but two Riga - Daugavpils - Riga trains stop here, as well as all Riga - Zilupe trains, one Zilupe - Riga train, and many suburban services from Riga to Aizkraukle. The route Riga-Lielvarde terminates here, and all trains on the routre Riga - Rezekne II pass the station. Lielvārde
Lielvārde (; german: Lennewarden), population 5885, is a town in Ogre Municipality in the Vidzeme region of Latvia, on the right bank of the Daugava river, 52 km southeast of Riga. History The area was a contact zone between the Finnic Livonians and the Balts, and many prehistoric artifacts have been uncovered there. A Baltic hill-fort named Lennewarden being taken in fief by Albert of Buxhoeveden in 1201 is mentioned in the Chronicle of Henry of Livonia. This site is called ''Dievukalns'' (Hill of the Gods) in Latvian. A stone castle was constructed by the Riga diocese in 1229; its ruins are still accessible today. A parochial school was established when the area was part of Swedish Livonia, but ca. 70% of the population perished in the Great Plague of 1710. Ogre Municipality
Ogre Municipality ( lv, Ogres novads) is a municipality in Vidzeme, Latvia. The municipality was formed in 2002 by merging Ogre town and Ogresgals Parish. In 2009 it absorbed Krape Parish, Ķeipene Parish, Laubere Parish, Madliena Parish, Mazozoli Parish, Meņģele Parish, Suntaži Parish and Taurupe Parish, the administrative centre being Ogre. The population in 2021 was 57,617. During the 2021 Latvian administrative reform, the previous municipality was merged with Ikšķile Municipality, Ķegums Municipality and Lielvārde Municipality. The new municipality now fully corresponds with the area of the former Ogre District. Railway Station
Rail transport (also known as train transport) is a means of transport that transfers passengers and goods on wheeled vehicles running on rails, which are incorporated in tracks. Riga–Daugavpils Railway
The Riga–Daugavpils railway line ( lv, Dzelzceļa līnija Rīga—Daugavpils) is a long railway line in Latvia which connects the cities of Riga in central Latvia and Daugavpils in south-eastern Latvia. The railway line is double track between Riga and Krustpils and single track between Krustpils and Daugavpils. The track gauge is (Russian gauge). Vidzeme
Vidzeme (; Old Latvian orthography: ''Widda-semme'', liv, Vidūmō) is one of the Historical Latvian Lands. The capital of Latvia, Riga, is situated in the southwestern part of the region. Literally meaning "the Middle Land", it is situated in north-central Latvia north of the Daugava River. Lielvārde Municipality
Lielvārde Municipality ( lv, Lielvārdes novads) was a municipality in Vidzeme, Latvia. The municipality was formed in 2004 by reorganization of Lielvārde town with its countryside territory. In 2009 it absorbed Jumprava parish and Lēdmane parish, the administrative centre being Lielvārde. In 2010 Lielvārde parish was created from the countryside territory of Lielvārde town. On 1 July 2021, Lielvārde Municipality ceased to exist and its territory was merged into Ogre Municipality.
