Lick-Wilmerding High School
Lick-Wilmerding High School is a private college-preparatory high school located in San Francisco, California, United States. History Lick-Wilmerding High School was founded on September 21, 1874 as the California School of Mechanical Arts by a trust from James Lick. George Merrill was hired to manage the school as the first director, and Lick, as the school was informally known, officially opened in January, 1895. George Merrill was the director of Lick until 1939, and later also the director of the Wilmerding School of Industrial Arts and the Lux School for Industrial Training for Girls, which were both located immediately adjacent to the Lick campus at 17th Street & Potrero Avenue in the Mission District. In the early 1950s, The California School of Mechanical arts and the Wilmerding School of Industrial Arts merged to become Lick-Wilmerding High School. Alsace (, ; ; Low Alemannic German/ gsw-FR, Elsàss ; german: Elsass ; la, Alsatia) is a cultural region and a territorial collectivity in eastern France, on the west bank of the upper Rhine next to Germany and Switzerland. Albert Overhauser
Albert W. Overhauser (August 17, 1925 – December 10, 2011) was an American physicist and a member of the United States National Academy of Sciences, National Academy of Sciences. He is best known for his theory of dynamic nuclear polarization known as the dynamic nuclear polarization#The Overhauser effect, Overhauser Effect in nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Gerek Lin Meinhardt (born July 27, 1990) is an American right-handed foil fencer. Meinhardt is a two-time individual NCAA champion, 12-time team Pan American champion, three-time individual Pan American champion and 2019 team world champion. Jonathon Keats (born October 2, 1971) is an American conceptual artist and experimental philosopher known for creating large-scale thought experiments. Keats was born in New York City and studied philosophy at Amherst College. He now lives in San Francisco and Italy. Luca Iaconi-Stewart
Luca Iaconi-Stewart (born around 1991) is an American designer who achieved widespread publicity in 2014 for building a 1/60-scale model of an Air India Boeing 777 using manila folders. Iaconi-Stewart began work on the model while a junior at San Francisco's Lick-Wilmerding High School in the late 2000s. He claimed it took 10,000 hours to complete and that he devoted an entire summer just to completing construction of the passenger seats. CNET declared the model "the coolest paper airplane ever" while WIRED named Iaconi-Stewart "the world's best paper plane maker". According to Iaconi-Stewart, he dropped out of college at Vassar in order to devote more time to constructing the model. In an interview with ''The Independent'', Iaconi-Stewart said his work had been inspired by an effort to "push the limits of what could be done" with manila folders. John Lane Bell (born March 25, 1945) is an Anglo-Canadian philosopher, mathematician and logician. He is Professor Emeritus of Philosophy at the University of Western Ontario in Canada.
