Liberian Second Division League
The Liberian Second Division League is the second tier of Liberian football. Structure At present, there are eighteen clubs that compete in the Liberian Second Division League. Those eighteen clubs are divided into two zones of ten teams (Zone A) and eight teams (Zone B) playing each other in a home and away series within their respective zones. At the end of the season, the bottom four teams from Zone A and the bottom three teams from Zone B are relegated to the LFA Sub-Committee Leagues (3rd Division). The top team from each zones gain automatic promotion. However, teams positioned second in each zones take part in a promotion play-off. Zwedru
Zwedru is the capital of Grand Gedeh County, one of the 15 counties in Liberia. Zwedru is located in Tchien District of Grand Gedeh County, near the Cavalla River in the country's south-eastern region and near the border with Côte d'Ivoire. It is located 350 miles southeast from the capital city of Monrovia. The town is a stronghold of the Krahn tribe. The town gets its name after the head of a local anteater creek. Robertsport
Robertsport is a town in western Liberia, about 10 miles (16 km) from the Sierra Leone border. It is named after Joseph Jenkins Roberts, the first president of Liberia. The town lies on Cape Mount peninsula, a spit of land separating the brackish lagoon Lake Piso from the Atlantic Ocean, north-west of Monrovia. It serves as the capital of Grand Cape Mount County and is the home of the city corporation. Ganta, also known as Gompa City, is a town approximately from Monrovia in Nimba County of northern Liberia. It is located just south of the Guinea border. It is the second-most populous city in Liberia, with an estimated population of 41,106 as of 2008. Kakata (pronounced ''Kak-ah-tah''), is the capital city of Liberia's Margibi County and is located in Kakata District just over the Du River bridge which is its border with Todee District. Buchanan, Liberia
Buchanan ( bsq, Gbezohn), also previously known as Grand Bassa on some maps, is the third largest city in Liberia, lying on Waterhouse Bay, part of the Atlantic Ocean. As of the 2008 census, Buchanan had a population of 34,270. Of this, 16,984 were male and 17,286 female. Mighty Barrolle is a football club from Liberia based in Monrovia. They are one of the founding members of football in Liberia. Their home Stadium is the Doris Williams Stadium. New Georgia is a township in Montserrado County, Liberia that was first settled by Africans who had been taken from slave ships seized or wrecked near the United States and then sent to Liberia after several years had passed. Gardnersville or Gardnesville is a township in the Greater Monrovia District, Liberia. The Liberian First Division, formerly known as Liberian Premier League, is the highest division of football in Liberia. The first division league began in 1956 and have only once been won by a club outside Monrovia. It has been dominated by Mighty Barrolle FC and Invincible Eleven FC.
