Liberator (video Game)
''Liberator'' is an arcade game released by Atari, Inc. in 1982. It is based on the ''Atari Force'' comic book series published by DC Comics from 1982 to 1986. ''Liberator'' has been described as the opposite of ''Missile Command'', in that the player destroys cities from space instead of defending them from the ground. Only 762 arcade machines were ever made. Atari, Inc. was an American video game developer and home computer company founded in 1972 by Nolan Bushnell and Ted Dabney. Atari was a key player in the formation of the video arcade and video game industry. The Atari 2600, initially branded as the Atari Video Computer System (Atari VCS) from its release until November 1982, is a home video game console developed and produced by Atari, Inc. Released in September 1977, it popularized microprocessor-based hardware and games stored on swappable ROM cartridges, a format first used with the Fairchild Channel F in 1976.
