Libera (mythology)
Proserpina ( , ) or Proserpine ( ) is an ancient Roman goddess whose iconography, functions and myths are virtually identical to those of Greek Persephone. Proserpina replaced or was combined with the ancient Roman fertility goddess Libera, whose principal cult was housed in the Aventine temple of the grain-goddess Ceres, along with the wine god Liber. Each of these three deities occupied their own ''cella'' at the temple. Their cults were served or supervised by a male public priesthood. Ceres was by far the senior of the three, one of the dii consentes, Rome's approximate equivalent to the Greek Twelve Olympians. She was identified with Greek Demeter and Liber was identified with Bacchus and Dionysus. Libera is sometimes described as a female version of Liber Pater, concerned with female fertility. Libera (choir)
Libera is an all-boy English vocal group founded by the late Robert Prizeman. Libera performs concerts in many countries, including the UK, the US and throughout Asia, and often makes recordings for their own album releases and other projects. Many members also sing in the parish choir of St. Philip's, Norbury, in South London. According to a 2009 ''Songs of Praise'' TV special, the group usually consists of approximately 40 members between the ages of seven and 16, including new members who are not yet ready to fully participate in albums or tours. The group recruits from a variety of backgrounds in the London area, and does not require its members to belong to any specific denomination. In addition to recording albums, touring and making TV appearances as Libera, the group sings on a weekly basis as part of the full choir of men and boys at parish choral services. The Libera Awards, sometimes referred to as The Libbys, are an annual awards ceremony organized by the American Association of Independent Music (A2IM). First hosted in 2012, the awards celebrate the independent music community. The capstone of A2IM's Indie Week, an annual music business conference, the ceremony has been able to be viewed by the public since 2020. The top-billed awards are generally Record of the Year and Best Live Act, in addition to Label of the Year, Best Sync Usage, and Video of the Year, among others. Libera Carlier (19 January 1926 in Nijlen – 25 April 2007 in Ekeren) was a Belgian seaman and writer. He attended the ''Hogere Zeevaartschool'' (E: higher seagoing school) and was a member of the resistance during World War II. When sixteen years old he ran away from home during the war and tried to reach the United Kingdom, but only got to France and was sent back. He was married to Joanna Pairoux and has 3 sons: Guy, Robert and Mark. Being a captain and river pilot, his tales and novels are mainly related to the sea and the sailors. He made his debut with ''De zondagsslepers'' (E: The Sunday haulers) in 1957. Libera Trevisani Levi-Civita (17 May 1890 – 11 December 1973) was an Italian mathematician born in Verona. Biography Libera Trevisani earned her classical lyceum A levels in 1908 at the "Bernardino Telesio" Lyceum in Cosenza. In the 1908–1909 academic year, she matriculated at the University of Padova. In 1912, she graduated at the University of Padova, under the guidance of the mathematician Tullio Levi-Civita, with a thesis titled ''Sul moto medio dei nodi nel problema dei tre corpi'' ("About the average motion within the three body problem").
