Liana Grigoryan ( hy, Լիանա Գրիգորյան; born 13 June 1986) is an Armenian football referee and a former footballer who played as a midfielder. She has been a member of the Armenia women's national team. Midfielder
A midfielder is an outfield position in association football. Midfielders may play an exclusively defensive role, breaking up attacks, and are in that case known as defensive midfielders. As central midfielders often go across boundaries, with mobility and passing ability, they are often referred to as deep-lying midfielders, play-makers, box-to-box midfielders, or holding midfielders. There are also attacking midfielders with limited defensive assignments. The size of midfield units on a team and their assigned roles depend on what formation is used; the unit of these players on the pitch is commonly referred to as the midfield. Armenia Women's National Football Team
The Armenia women's national football team (Armenian: Հայաստանի ֆուտբոլի ազգային հավաքական) is the national football team of Armenia and is controlled by the Football Federation of Armenia. After the split of the Soviet Union, the team played its first international match. They play their home games at the Mika Stadium in Yerevan. The team's first match was on 10 May 2003 against Austria which they lost 11–0. The team has not qualified for a World Cup or a Women's Euro yet. History Armenia played its first match in Waidhofen against Austria, losing 11–0. Three days later they again lost 11–0 against Austria. In association football, the referee is the person responsible for interpreting and enforcing the Laws of the Game during a match. The referee is the final decision-making authority on all facts connected with play, and is the match official with the authority to start and stop play and impose disciplinary action against players and coaches during a match.
