Lia Dorana
Lia Dorana (18 July 1918 – 4 December 2010) was a Dutch comedian and actress. Dorana was born Beppy van Werven in The Hague on 18 July 1918. She was discovered by Dutch singer and cabaret singer Wim Sonneveld, with whom she launched her early career. She also worked with Hetty Blok and Conny Stuart. Lia Dorana died in her hometown of Lage Vuursche, in the Dutch province of Utrecht Utrecht ( , , ) is the fourth-largest city and a municipality of the Netherlands, capital and most populous city of the province of Utrecht. Conny Stuart
Conny Stuart (5 September 1913 – 22 August 2010), pseudonym of Cornelia van Meijgaard, was a Dutch actress, singer, and '' cabaretière''. Biography Stuart was born in Wijhe and grew up in The Hague, near the Peace Palace. Her father was the administrator of the baron. During her education at the HBS Bleyenburg she took on the name "Stuart" and took piano lessons. In this period, she got the nickname "Puck". Stuart started her career as '' chansonnière'' and performed with the band of Freddy Johnson. On 25 July 1939 she made her radio debut. In World War II, Stuart met Wim Sonneveld, and began to perform in his ensemble. Sonneveld stimulated her comic qualities, for instance by letting his stage writer Hella Haasse write a farcical song like "Yvonne de spionne" for her. In the 1950s she became the leading lady of the show. Annie M.G. Schmidt, who wrote for the shows in those days, made sure she at least had one solo per show. Hetty Blok
Henriëtte Adriana "Hetty" Blok (6 January 1920 – 6 November 2012) was a Dutch cabaret artist, singer, and actress who performed on the stage, on radio, and on television for more than five decades. Her best-known role is Nurse Klivia, one of the lead roles in the iconic television series '' Ja zuster, nee zuster'', a role with which she was identified the rest of her life. She was known also as a friend of Annie M. G. Schmidt and a singer of her songs. Biography Blok was born in Arnhem and made her stage début in 1943. Her career started shortly after World War II in cabaret, performing with established singers and musicians including Wim Sonneveld, Fien de la Mar, and Harry Bannink. She met Annie M. G.
